COMMERCIALISATION & OUTCOMES DIRECTOR

This is an exciting opportunity to work within a fast paced, busy environment for a leading global provider of outsourced development services to the pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical device industries.

This role is an key part of the management team for the newly named ICON division Icon Commercialisation and Outcomes. Formerly LPOR, ICO is ​the integration of ICON Late Phase, Oxford Outcomes, and PriceSpective.​ Main responsibilities will include supporting the Vice President in the management of the internal structure of Patient Reported Outcomes, financial performance, quality objectives, and contribute to the strategy of the department. You will be required to take responsibility for co-ordinating the department’s workload, pro-actively taking part in business development activities and liaising with other departments within ICO as appropriate. Contribute to the mentoring and development of the team and provide project management and department overview, acting as a point of resolution for projects and resourcing issues.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

· * Travel (approximately 15%) domestic and/or international
· Provide support to the Vice President in implementing ICO business strategies
· Act as part of the leadership team of an ICO department
· Provide strategic contribution to the planning and business development processes
· Initiate and implement marketing activities
· Establish and maintain client relationships
· As part of the management team, take responsibility for co-ordinating the department’s workload
· Act as part of the leadership team in building business links within ICO and with ICON Clinical Research
· Contribute to the development of scientific and consultancy practice, resources and skills across the department
· * Manage and be involved in proposal writing, project work and client liaison
· * Provide project management and technical inputs to projects, as appropriate
· Undertake contract reviews as necessary
· Take a lead with publications/scientific communications
· Demonstrate and actively promote an open and honest working environment to encourage close teamwork, foster knowledge transfer, and provide clear direction to department’s employees
· Support the Vice President in the organising, managing and creating vision of the practice
· Actively participate in management activities in the department
· Responsible for ensuring team compliance with all relevant SOPs, policies and procedures.
· Provide mentoring and supervision, and manage staff development
· * Other activities associated with the day-to-day running of the department.

· Bachelor’s degree, or local equivalent, required. Master’s degree preferred

· Significant proven relevant industry experience - ideally within PRO research

· Experience of working in a health care/consultancy environment

· Demonstrable experience of people management

· Demonstrable experience of business development

· Demonstrable experience of relevant scientific capability.

· Due to the nature of this position it may be required for the employee to travel. Therefore, dependent on the employee’s location, the employee may be required to possess a valid Drivers license.
