This is a key role enabling the Play Apps Development team to scale and operate in a consistent manner. You'll ensure the most important projects are the team’s priority and are delivered in a timely fashion. You'll be familiar with how our systems work, and their architectures, while also acting as the first point of contact for all incoming issues.

Demonstrate the ability to define, implement, and improve standard, scalable, measurable, and repeatable workflows and processes for engineering, operations, and cross-functional teams.
Demonstrate thought leadership, vision, and a deep understanding of Google’s technologies, business goals, and the industry. Develop strategic alliances, have a sphere of influence to execute multiple complex programs, and create market opportunities.
Understand, lead and drive the various phases of projects, define overall programs, and manage a portfolio of projects for Google Play.
Communicate status to stakeholders and leadership, providing visibility into the team’s work.
Apply your own independent technical judgment to engineering problems, similar to what a practicing engineer would do, to contribute to technical design and implementation. Exercise your technical judgment to identify dependencies and make decisions to avoid technical issues.
Qualifications
Minimum qualifications:
BA/BS degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience.
Experience in project or program management.
Experience in object oriented programming language Java, C++ or Python.
Preferred qualifications:
First-hand experience writing software with client and service components.
Excellent project or program management skills, with the ability to manage several large-scale, interrelated, and complex technical projects while maintaining attention to detail and quality results within project deadlines.
Demonstrated track record of shipping large complex products.
Passion for building consumer experiences on mobile devices.
