Job Description:
The Gene Therapy Commercial Director role will be a hybrid role with both internal and externally-facing activities in order to support the commercialisation of ex-vivo Gene Therapy treatments, starting with the Strimvelis launch in Q2 2016. GSK's current portfolio consists of in-licensed assets which have been developed in partnership with Telethon Institute for Gene Therapy (TIGET) and Ospedale San Raffaele in Milan. This role requires an experienced professional who has knowledge and experience of commercialising specialist medicines via an account management approach.

Key Responsibilities
• Accountable for treatment pathway mapping, management, stakeholder engagement, local access, HCP engagement and ultimately successful patient treatment in the major referral centres in 3-4 EU LOCs/regions (tbc – likely Spain, UK, France)
• Point person for nominated accounts and LOCs to drive decision making as part of a cross functional team (KAM, MSL, Market access)
• Responsible For Key Global Commercial Deliverables
Global launch events at key international congresses
Customer insight generation to shape commercial content for current/future indications
Global Account management training and support
GT Community building via new, innovative communication channels
• Market access interface lead, supporting the MA team to develop customer facing tools to drive communication of compelling global value narrative and achieve access
• Engagement with GM & LOC leadership teams for aligned markets to ensure clarity on global vs LOC accountabilities and partner on national reimbursement where needed
• Develops and tracks pre-launch and launch metrics and performance and implements ways to meet / exceed goals.
• Connect to key developments in field, able to spot promising technologies and partnerships which can grow GSK presence, hasten development or improve competitive position.
Development Opportunities
• Be the team to develop an entirely new commercial model for GSK, bringing high value medicine in area of high unmet need
This will be a blueprint for GSK to reach leadership in the Gene Therapy space
• Global accountability with reach across EU & EMA
• Launch exposure with first commercialised GT treatment worldwide with Strimvelis with opportunity to develop pre-launch strategy for future indications
• Direct accountability for key referral centres in EU, with measurable impact on appropriate patients lives
Basic qualifications: • Academic: Bachelors degree level
• Professional: local and above country sales and marketing experience in a specialist arena, ideally launch experience and key account management experience
