Job Description:
The Cray Finance Director EMEA is responsible for all finance-related activities of Cray subsidiaries in EMEA (UK, Germany, France, Switzerland, Italy, Spain, Sweden, Finland, Netherlands as well as Saudi-Arabia and Dubai) and finance-related aspects of Cray business (sales & service) throughout the region. Reporting to the Corporate Controller in the global Cray headquarters in Seattle, WA, the Finance Director EMEA is the main contact and business partner for Cray corporate in the region.
Cray is looking for a dynamic, business-oriented finance all-rounder with SME experience in the international technology sector and excellent communication and inter-cultural skills. As a growing and expanding tech company, we expect the person to be able to initiate and manage change, to create new business approaches, and to re-define and consolidate processes.
The role will also encompass the management and communication of EMEA financial results to senior and functional management (EMEA Sales, G&A groups). It will provide operating leadership by managing the EMEA annual budget planning process with focus on EMEA sales & margin estimates.
This position is responsible for understanding and complying with Cray internal controls.
Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To
Oversight of the accounting for all Cray subsidiaries in the region
Process responsibility for invoicing and payments in the region
In collaboration with HR, payroll, benefits, and staff expenses in the region
Management of outsourced services and relationship with external bookkeeping partners
Management and development of a small team of accountants and finance assistants in UK
Budgeting process for the region by business department and country
Quarterly and annual financial close and statements, managing mid-year review process and quarterly forecasts, including modelling, reporting and analytics.
Cray main contact for local national tax and regulatory authorities in coordination with local outsourcing partners
Review, develop and implement process improvements related to accounting procedures and controls
Conduct reviews and evaluations for cost-reduction opportunities;
Compliance with all national as well as corporate rules, laws and regulations
Business support to the VP EMEA Sales & Marketing and the VP Business Operations, including cost optimisation, profitability analysis, pricing, financial business steering and financial support for decision making.
Development (in collaboration with the two regional VPs) and reporting of Cray EMEA business KPIs
Keep abreast of changes in financial regulations and legislation.
Selects, develops and evaluates personnel to ensure efficient operation of the overall process.
Minimum Education And/or Experience
Chartered Accountant, CPA or MBA
Track record as finance all-rounder, including budgeting, accounting, controlling, reporting
Experience in an international, multi-lingual SME environment
At least 10 years professional experience, with at least 5 years in the technology sector
Fluency and professional proficiency in English and German. Knowledge of French and/or additional European languages are a strong asset.
