The world’s largest independent PR agency is looking for an Account Director to work in a fast paced consumer team within Edelman. The role is to work 100% on a big global client and will include global coordination of PR campaigns to ensure Edelman offices are delivering creative campaigns and phenomenal results. Although Consumer focused you will need a mix of working with business and consumer media as well as experience working with UK-based and Global media. A retail background would be highly desirable particularly a Convenience Retail or Grocery Retail background.

The role consists of…

o Being the day to day lead for client giving broad-ranging creative and strategic advice

o Working within an integrated agency team to deliver creative and inspiring toolkits

o Creating and project managing global events

o Working with up to 20 markets across APAC and Europe to deliver toolkits and develop localised PR programmes

o Thinking broadly and thoughtfully about a client program beyond a particular program task

o Identifying problems that could damage client relationships or affect the outcome of projects, resolve problems and alert a supervisor with what has been resolved

o Working with Edelman offices to grow and win new business

o developing and effectively manage a client budgets and taking responsibility for related issues

o Analysing client goals strategically, creatively and present findings

o Demonstrating superior writing and editing skills for client materials and plans

o Developing strategies and associated tactics to meet client goals

o Leading brainstorming sessions for client accounts

o Forging relationships with third-party vendors and internal business partners

o Demonstrating applied understanding of Edelman’s various consulting processes/approaches, including public engagement, message workshops, master narrative assignments, brand engagement, social media campaigns and stakeholder mapping exercises

o Proven experience and understanding of international PR programmes and multi-country co- ordination

o Innovative, proactive and hands-on approach to solving client business issues

o Facility with serving as daily client contact and as client lead when appropriate

o Ability to support and set client programme goals and manage against them

o Capability to elevate problems to superiors and solicit their counsel when appropriate

o Ability to keep on top of the smallest detail and anticipate needs

2. PR Proficiency

o Tactical proficiency in media relations, including creating and driving outreach plans, message development, management of events, effective pitching

o Practical and advanced understanding of visual communications, social media and the digital landscape and how to incorporate these channels into client programmes

o Proficiency in writing skills to craft internal and client correspondence, communications plans, press materials, new business proposals, etc.

3. Talent Management

o Ability to promote a winning team environment and lead by example

o Capable of supporting the development of AEs, AAEs, or interns, providing direction on specific daily projects as well as coaching them on short and long-term initiatives and goals
