OPERATIONS DIRECTOR - LEAN SIX SIGMA (MAJOR PROCESSES) EUROPE

This role reports directly to the VP Operations & Supply Chain

As a Director you will be the International Major Process Owner and will be responsible for the major processes across the International Car Rental Business to include Fuel, Damage Control Customer Support and Service.
This position will provide leadership to lower cost base for Hertz and improve the customer experience by reducing non-value added activities in each of these major processes.

Oversee the deployment and administration of tools and activities to help drive a metrics based, performance driven culture, achieving both financial and process improvement targets.
Support business objectives by leveraging LSS tools and activities to build a robust strategy that systematically addresses gaps identified through the Hoshin planning process.
Develop and maintain partnerships with business leaders to assess current processes identify process improvement opportunities and drive improvements through the International Car Rental Projects Office and Major Process Owners.
Provide inspirational leadership to the organisation in our quest for continuous improvement. Serve as a change agent enabling ongoing culture change, characterized by disciplined execution and accountability.
Ensure established objectives are met or exceeded by conducting regular project and process reviews with process owners and the PMO. Take a proactive role in ongoing employee development, providing robust coaching and mentoring.
Provide data integrity oversight ensure that best practices are identified, shared and replicated where appropriate. Collaborate on cross-organisational improvement opportunities.
Ensure quality project management exists in the organisation end-to-end, delivering or exceeding agreed upon results, including gaining stakeholder approval and commitment throughout the project life cycle, and implementing sustainment strategy in partnership with process owner.

This position operates in a matrixed environment. A person in this position must interact effectively throughout the organisation to gain the authority to achieve his/her financial and project objectives. This position requires a high level of autonomy while retaining the ability to work in a collaborative environment.

Educational Background:

Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent) at a minimum

MBA preferred

Knowledge:

Proven experience with continuous improvement methodologies
Solid business and financial acumen
Proven project management experience
Competent with MS Office elements including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, and Access

Desired Skills and Experience

Professional Experience:

You will be a Master Black Belt in Lean Six Sigma methodologies

Have

Strong Project Management Skills

With
A Minimum of 6/7 years management (Operations Management from a Manufacturing /Engineering Background) with a proven full P+L responsibility, including both direct supervision of employees and leading teams.
Experience with virtual teams required.
Proven track record leading projects which achieved significant improvements to cost, quality and time.
