Job description
The Instrument Operator, under direction of the Production Supervisor, operates assigned topside process safely and efficiently and maintains the computer control systems, telecommunication, fire and gas, shutdown and related systems. This is done in accordance with legislative requirements, company health, safety, environmental, integrity and other relevant standards and Maersk values.

Key Responsiblities

•Actively support a working environment based on respect for health, safety and environmental issues and maintenance of a high level of asset integrity.
•Participate as a member of the Production Supervisor’s team in delivering Maersk Oil North Sea performance targets.
•Build effective working relationships with other departments and shifts.
•Ensure necessary preparation for relevant scheduled activities.
•Safe and efficiently operation of process systems from either the Central control room or local panels including monitoring and response to alarm conditions.
•Responsible for execution and record keeping of verification, well testing and other routine activities.
•Prepares process and equipment isolation and PtW in accordance with relevant procedures including subsequent inspection and start up of the facilities.
•Responsible for the housekeeping of assigned areas.
•Maintains the vessel control system, DCS, communication equipment, electronic navigation aids, and other marine electronics
•Nominated person responsible for small bore tubing and fittings
•Ensure that the underlying causes of failures are understood and that action is taken to avoid repeat failures.
•Bring defects in practices, equipment, tools, protective clothing to the attention of relevant staff.
•Liaise with projects, vendors and OEMs so as to maintain instrument & control maintenance plans and documentation.
•Maintain accurate and appropriate maintenance records and ensure that the data is entered into the appropriate information management systems.
•Execute duties as specified in the station/bill/emergency response procedures or as directed by the OIM.
•Ensure a full and comprehensive handover detailing all relevant details in accordance with procedures.
•Is also able to read and work from engineering/vendor drawings.

Who we are looking for

•Recognised relevant NVQ qualification.
•Extensive experience of offshore operations
•Excellent knowledge of instrument & control maintenance , associated technical standards, processes and relevant legislation
•Vendor management experience
•Good written and verbal communication skills and the ability to present complex technical issues in a clear and concise manner.
•Ability to create positive relations to peers and stakeholders internally and externally.
•Experience of maintenance scheduling, organising, coordinating and controlling/monitoring work.
