Cloud Partner Business Development Manager
Cloud computing represents one of the most important revolutions of the IT industry, and a strategic priority for Microsoft.
This is your chance to be part of a growing UK team bringing Microsoft’s cloud platform to market. Microsoft is currently recruiting a new role focused on our partners in order to further develop the Azure business. As a member of the team, you are responsible for identifying, developing and closing complex sales opportunities for Microsoft’s cloud computing platform inside of our partners businesses.
You will work with the Microsoft Partner teams to engage with our Systems Integrator, ISV, Hoster and BPO partners in order to build and develop profitable Cloud Platform businesses. You will also work with our customer teams to ensure our partners are developing market leading solutions for our customers. Effective sales pipeline development and management experience required. Business development, deal development and close coordination are also essential.
The Azure™ Services Platform (Azure) is an internet-scale cloud services platform hosted in Microsoft data centers, which provides an operating system and a set of developer services that can be used individually or together. Azure’s flexible and interoperable platform can be used to build new applications to run from the cloud or enhance existing applications with cloud-based capabilities. Its open architecture gives developers the choice to build web applications, applications running on connected devices, PCs, servers, or hybrid solutions offering the best of online and on- premises.
Team/Department Mission: We are currently recruiting for a UK Partner Business Development Manager with a passion for customers and technology to focus on the Windows Azure Platform focusing on selling to the Enterprise within the UK.
Key Accountabilities:
This job entails developing Microsoft’s cloud computing platform business in our partners, removing roadblocks to adoption, and driving next generation profit streams for our partners on the Microsoft platform. In addition, you will provide leadership in identifying opportunities and helping partners to evaluate Azure solutions within their requirements to leverage the cloud. The ideal candidate will also have a proven record of growing new businesses and building technical relationships. A strong knowledge of Enterprise IT solutions and Internet services plus related technologies and competitors in the cloud computing space is required. Ability to effectively present to a wide range and size of audiences from IT technician to CxO level is a must. This position requires a knowledge of our IT service partners as well as subject matter expertise for technology solution sales and issues surrounding cloud computing and integration of other Microsoft and competitor technologies.
Identify the partner’s cloud related business priorities and map to Microsoft solutions to identify sales and joint GTM opportunities.
Lead opportunity v-team including Account Teams, Specialist Sales, Services, Licensing and Marketing representatives to ensure Microsoft wins large share of the deployed and in market partner cloud infrastructure
Lead deployment support team to ensure partner brings a Cloud OS based solution to market ready to service enterprise accounts
Support partner GTM efforts to bring the Cloud OS based solution to market and win outsourced workloads from Microsoft enterprise account base

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
A strong track record in Enterprise software sales, business development, enterprise consulting or an equivalent.
Demonstrated experience and success engaging with senior executives in a sales and business development process and working with leading consulting, systems integrator and major computer vendors.
Candidate must possess exceptional demonstrated decision-making, conflict resolution, problem solving and negotiation skills.
Knowledge of cloud services market key partners and existing relationships in partner organisations.
Strong understanding of cloud computing technologies, business drivers and emerging trends as well as the impact of these on partners and customers
Qualifications: BS/BA degree or equivalent work experience
MBA Desirable
