Amazon is looking to hire an experienced, innovative, hands-on, and customer-obsessed EU Sr. Engineering Manager that can drive innovation and execution in our European last mile delivery network. As a senior member of the EU Amazon Logistics Engineering team you will be responsible for designing and optimizing the existing and future EU Last Mile Delivery and Sortation network from an engineering perspective to meet our high goals in customer experience.
· Responsible for operations engineering for all European Last Mile delivery and sortation locations
· Responsible for equipment engineering including specification, purchase and maintenance systems (Conveyors, Sortation, Identification, etc.)
· Responsibility to drive standardization across the European network
· Provide technical expertise on engineering design incl. material flow, conveyor and equipment layouts, installation details, schedules and budget
· Provide technical expertise on engineering process-improvement and standardization efforts
· Develop mid- and long term engineering requirements, work with the Finance, Operations, Capacity planning, and other functional teams to develop business requirements
· Provide direction on maintenance and service strategies for the European Last Mile Deliver network
· Promote improvement in Amazon’s Fulfilment effectiveness, through process design and cost reduction
· Apply best practices from and share best practices with EU and WW counterparts
· Implement and Audit monthly performance reporting
· Be a key participant in EU strategy and performance meetings
· Responsible of applying the Amazon Safety Policy and working with the Safety team to improve safety on site.
Basic Experience:
· 5+ years’ experience in a similar senior role, ideally in a fast-paced industrial, logistics, production/manufacturing or MHE manufacture environment
· Excellent Project Management Skills
· Excellent Process Engineering Skills
· In depth experience in Design of Material Handling Equipment
· Experience of MHE vendor management including tender processes and negotiations
· Experience with Kaizen and Continuous Improvement Process.
Required Qualifications
· Master’s degree (or similar)
· Results oriented approach with excellent analytical, team leadership and organizational skills
· Ability to work autonomously
· Ability to work under pressure in a cross functional organization
· High level of written, verbal and interpersonal skills
· Computer skills (MS Office, CMMS, AUTOCAD, etc.)
· Ability to lead and direct to support the business strategy
· Fluent in English and at least one other EU language
Additional Experience:
· Knowledge of other EU language desirable (French, German, Spanish or Italian advantageous)
