Director Global Internal Engagement Content GSK Brentford

Job Description
As editor-in-chief for the global digital channels for GSK, this role has an important role as guardian of our tone of voice and the Narrative across the CH channels. This role will lead the team who are the guardians of the Consumer Healthcare tone of voice. They will ensure all written content is consistent with the brand voice and is of a consistent quality and creativity. Critical skills include brilliant copywriting, creative ideas and newsflow management. The Regional and Content Lead role has a broad impact with five core purposes:



• The engagement and alignment of all Consumer Healthcare global employees with the Enterprise-wide GSK strategy, the Consumer Healthcare Winning Formula and its People and Performance culture in order to maximize productivity and retention

• The job holder will support the Head of Global Internal Engagement and provide support to the business by planning, creating and shaping internal communications content particularly CEO content, Quarterly Financial Results and Global Townhalls

• The role will also be required to work closely with the Regional Comms teams and build a creative content strategy which embeds Consumer Healthcare’s Winning Formula and builds a high performance People and Performance culture across a multitude of stakeholders

• Working as part of the Consumer Healthcare communications team, this role will interface with a high number of internal stakeholders and be required to work in a highly matrixed environment. It will be essential that the individual builds close relationships with the global internal engagement team and other in-market communication colleagues across the region to share best practice

• This role will be pivotal in ensuring the Consumer Healthcare internal engagement programme is world-class. This role requires excellent written and verbal skills as well as the ability to build relationships quickly and effectively often under pressing time deadlines

The Job Holder And Their Team Will Be Responsible For

• Creative global content describing progress against the Winning Formula strategy and People and Performance culture
• Bringing new and creative ideas for content into the CH business
• Working with the Channel Team to set up and manage an on-going Air Traffic control system across Consumer Healthcare
• Managing CH’s contribution to the CGALT IC strategy including the Listening and Analysis role out
• Running the Consumer Healthcare editorial board

Extensive experience and demonstrated good judgment is essential - this role will frequently be faced with high pressure situations and needs to have the experience and judgment to navigate through them in a calm and measured way, sometimes without all the information they need (ie able to deal with ambiguity, be accountable for making difficult decisions).

The job holder also needs good understanding of the Consumer Healthcare sector to engage effectively with senior business stakeholders across GSK and ensure communications strategy and priorities are aligned with the business strategy.

Complexity

The complexity of the global organisation requires an understanding of the many different cultures in which GSK operates and of the social, economic, regulatory, legal and environmental issues affecting our business, and their implications for what and how to communicate with sensitivity, influence and impact.

Required

Communications activities and plans must be appropriate for use in all these countries and contexts. The person in this role will have to establish a wide network of contacts and consult with them on a continuous basis to ensure that the strategies and materials provided are fit for purpose.
