A excellent opportunity has arisen for a Group Financial Planning and Analysis Director, based in our London HQ. As part of the Finance leadership, you will be responsible for leading the group Financial Planning and Analysis team, reporting to the Senior Vice President of Finance. Your team are responsible for providing the financial insight for management, the Burberry board of directors and the City. You will lead and develop the group FP&A team, and work closely with other Finance teams across the business, continuously driving process, controls, efficiency and quality improvements in the teams’ deliverables.

Planning and Budgeting
Strategic Three Year Plan (3YP) - analyse and articulate, to senior management and to the board, the regional and corporate drivers behind the Group financial plan, and the financial impact of key strategic initiatives.
Annual Budget, and quarterly Forecast – as process owner, project manage to ensure timely delivery, and clearly explain business and financial drivers behind financial movements.
Currency impact – clearly explain the impact of foreign exchange movement on all group reporting (including 3YP, budgets, forecasts and actuals) and main drivers.
Margins – responsible for understanding the key drivers behind margin movements across the group, acting as the key interface between the Merchandise Planning and Regional Finance teams and bridging the gap between the Statutory and Flow-Through margins
Capital investment proposals - review, and work with the regions, to ensure appropriate financial and commercial rigour has been applied in advance of the proposals being presented to the Burberry Senior Leadership Team for review and approval.
Management reporting
Business Review meetings – act as the key interface between the regions and the CFO/CEO to ensure key commercial and financial messages are clearly presented, including the latest financial projections and drivers of any movements.
Month-end reporting – analyse and clearly explain, to the executive team and the board, the key regional and corporate drivers of Group performance versus Budget, Forecast and Prior Year.
Trading updates
Provide analysis and insight to support the Investor Relations team on a wide range of areas ahead of quarterly trading statements, interim and preliminary announcements to the City.
Team
Continuously improve process and controls. Challenge current ways of working to drive efficiency and effectiveness.
Mentor, develop and retain talent with a long term strategic mind-set and consideration for the ongoing evolution of Finance. Manage team to optimise their performance and oversee their development, both as individuals and as a team.
PERSONAL PROFILE
Qualified accountant, ACA/CIMA or equivalent, with considerable post qualification experience.
Operates with a strong commercial mind-set, and understanding of business.
Previous experience in driving efficiencies and prioritising competing demands.
Previous FP&A and/or Group consolidation experience, or similar, within a large, listed, multinational company.
Proven track record of building teams and delivering through others, continuous process improvements and driving change.
Working within a multicurrency environment; analysing and understanding the impact of movements in exchange rates in all areas of the income statement.
SKILLS
You will be a strong leader with the ability to build, lead and inspire your team.
Strong communication skills, with experience in report writing, including writing Board reports, and presenting information to both Finance and non-Finance people.
Ability to build strong stakeholder relationships, both with the wider Finance team globally and throughout the business.
Strong analytical skills, ability to quickly understand and interpret complex information. Excellent attention to detail.
Ability to propose and deliver practical solutions to resolve complex problems that arise.
Can interact, advise and challenge senior leadership levels.
