Job Description
As the Director of Business Development for Big Data UK practice, you will act in a strategic and critical role with the responsibility of making Big Data an integral part for all the accounts, from opportunity management through successful project execution and subsequently, account mining.
You will receive support from Global Solutions Group, but also be responsible for ensuring overall Business Development and delivery for all Big Data projects.
This is a strategic role for Cognizant and primary responsibility is to facilitate Cognizant Big Data offerings for the customers as part of the overall Enterprise Information Management Business Development efforts.
The role envisages key participation from opportunity Management through successful project execution
Responsibilities:
Responsible for delivery & ongoing sales for United Kingdom for Big Data Services.
Work with Global Big Data Strategy & Solutions Group to develop market facing Marketing,
Business Development & New Account Sales Penetration.
Work towards higher levels of customer satisfaction and ensure customer stratification.
Working closely with BI, Analytics & big data stakeholders.
Critical Escalation handling during delivery
Cross selling and up selling in existing accounts
Innovate the best model to deliver onshore / offshore services based on customer requirements
Ensure Forecast accuracy
Desired Skills and Experience
Skills/Experience Required:
Extensive experience in Information Management, Big data and Analytics
Strong experience in Practice Management
Strong Consulting, Sales, Business Development and/or Marketing of Big Data Solutions
Background from IBM, Oracle, Teradata, EMC, or other BI/DW Companies is strongly desired
Proven experience working closely with C-Level down to technical stakeholders
Strong experience in offshore/onshore delivery model
Familiar with working with data in a distributed computing and parallel processing environments using programming models (MapReduce programming).
Pipeline Management and Forecasting Experience
Portfolio and track record serving top UK Clientele
Understanding architecture and internals of leading Hadoop distribution platforms
Understanding/experience in real time processing/computations(Storm, Spark)
Understanding/experience in NoSQL technologies
Experience in leading full lifecycle of a big data solution from requirements to deployment i.e. requirements analysis, platform selection, technical architecture design, application design and development, testing, and deployment
Experience in digital, IOT use cases (nice to have)
