Job description
This role is responsible for driving and delivering PayPal EMEA’s joint initiatives with eBay and for fostering effective collaboration between PayPal and eBay. Location: London, Berlin, Paris or Luxembourg, with regular travel to Zurich and San Jose. Core responsibilities:
Financial targets/ KPIsSupport the delivery of the financial targets - TPV and revenue - for PayPal’s business on eBay in EMEA ($23.8B TPV, $950m revenue in 2015).Deliver target volumes of PayPal EMEA consumer activations from eBay (4.1m in 2015). InitiativesDrive the delivery of key joint initiatives between PayPal and eBay in EMEA - including,
but not limited to:- Checkout: manage the delivery in EMEA of global projects to keep the PayPal payment experience on eBay ‘best in class’ (under the terms of the Operating Agreement);- Co-marketing (B2C and B2B): oversee the development and delivery of joint marketing programmes focused on growing the number of joint consumer and merchant customers in EMEA;- Credit services: support the development and delivery of consumer and small business credit services targeting eBay customers in EMEA;- Protection/ guarantee programmes: support the operation and development of eBay buyer protection programmes in EMEA (under the terms of the Operating Agreement);- Cross-border trade enablement: oversee the development and delivery of initiatives to accelerate the volume of PayPal EMEA cross-border transactions on eBay;
ReportingManage the development and delivery of regular EMEA Marketplaces business performance reporting (scorecard/ KPIs).Manage budgeting and forecasting processes for the EMEA Marketplaces business (with the FP&A team).Support the development of strategic analytics to inform the prioritisation of joint initiatives with eBay in EMEAManage the monthly operating forum between eBay and PayPal functional/ initiative leads in EMEA (content preparation, chairing). Relationship management Act as principal EMEA point of contact to address enquiries and escalations from eBay.Build effective working relationships with key eBay and PayPal counterparts in EMEA and San Jose to support the delivery of joint initiatives.
Education required: Bachelor’s degree required; MBA disireable but not essential. Experience required: Likely to have a specific background in product development, marketing or commercial management (with experience in multiple functions an advantage). Skills & Abilities required: Interpersonal/ influencing skills; able to build rapport and command respect from stakeholders to EU management level in both PayPal and eBay; able to work effectively within the matrix to drive alignment of plans and priorities and the delivery of key joint initiatives. Knowledge required: eBay knowledge - ‘highly proficient in eBay’, with a deep understanding of eBay’s business model, strategy, organisation and products; Likely with time spent at eBay or managing joint initiatives with eBay.
