Job Description:
Consultants are heavily influential in the decision making process to help us retain business, develop existing relationships and win new clients across EMEA. This role will focus on the management of the team that has responsibility for engaging consultants across EMEA.
This role will be based at our office in the West End of London at 43-45 Portman Square (WH 6LY).
Key Responsibilities
Effective team management required to build strong team relationships, own team member development and talent management, directing aspiration and goal-setting, providing regular feedback and coaching.
Develop and implement a clear strategy to improve consultant perception of Invesco, to help retain business.
Increase new business opportunities and sales channels.
Developing and maintaining relationships with consultants regionally across all asset classes
Preparing new business proposals for Institutional opportunities
Promoting Invesco products through industry and consultant databases
Through collaborative interaction with Consultants, to influence their investment strategy & thinking, secure and maintain support for key Invesco products, monetize sales opportunities from this channel
Proactively contribute to Invesco’s relationships with influential investment consulting firms in CE through the execution of agreed Strategic Account Plans.
Build relationships with the investment consulting firms, providing thought leadership and leading our dialogue across the breadth of Invesco product capabilities.
Promote our capabilities in alignment with Invesco’s key objectives and client demands.
Provide effective co-ordination and leadership in the management of relationships with Multi-national Consultant Firms
Develop and maintain a strong working knowledge of Invesco’s existing products and capabilities to the extent necessary to successfully position our products and services.
Communicate effectively with the designated portfolio of firms on a range of business updates, market and topical issues.
Gather business intelligence from consultants to provide feedback to support Invesco’s sales activity and product development.
Gain a clear understanding of our consultants’ business priorities.
Understand their clients’ service, technical and regulatory requirements.
Act as an escalation point for outstanding issues or queries and work with the wider business towards a resolution.
Represent the Global Consultants Committee (GCC) across the breadth of Invesco’s client businesses and portfolio management teams and to build effective and strong relationships across the firm.
Work closely and collaboratively with team members, colleagues in the Institutional Client Business, Global Consultants Committee to achieve overall business objectives.
Represent and promote Invesco at client conferences, industry forums and client entertainment events.
Key Requirements
Experience of Institutional Investment Management and/or investment consultants
Working knowledge of, and a genuine interest in the institutional market place (regulatory issues, trends, competitive landscape etc)
Strong knowledge of Investment markets that ideally spans all asset classes, to an extent that will command the respect of our investment teams colleagues and the consultant community.
In depth knowledge of Invesco and its products
Degree or equivalent.
IMC (or similar)is essential with a desire to progress towards the CFA qualification is desirable.
Language skills desired, German, Italian and Dutch are especially relevant
Excellent organisational skills with a proven ability to prioritise effectively
A results orientated self-starter who can quickly analyse consultant needs and focus on delivery
Collaborative individual who acts in the best interest of the firm
Proactive team player across the whole business, with good listening skills and an inquisitive working style
Ability to work to tight deadlines
Ability to network and develop long-term relationships with consultants and internal business partners
Should be flexible regarding workload and working hours
Awareness of the importance of good customer service
Requirement to demonstrate persistence and patience
Ability to interface between investment teams and consultant community
