Job Description:
AFS Syndicate EMEA is responsible for the liquidity & price assessment, syndication and underwriting risk in respect of all advisory and financing dialogue with issuer clients on all AFS products including securitisation, structured bonds & loans (originated by both Global Markets and Financing Solutions origination teams), and illiquid credit. Structured loan types include (but are not limited to) Energy & Infrastructure, Export Finance, Real Estate, Transportation, and Oil & Gas / Metals & Mining.
AFS Syndicate, EMEA is also responsible for working with Sales (GM and Bank Sales) on the ongoing education and penetration of existing investors as well as the development of new investors in AFS products.
Key Responsibilities and approximates time split (%)
Origination
Working with Sales to conduct and coordinate market soundings, provide market intelligence / feedback on terms for proposed financing structures, and identify potential liquidity
Coordinating with all syndicate partners globally and regionally to ensure best cross-product / cross-region advice to Issuers
Supporting / attending Issuer pitches as appropriate with market updates, liquidity analyses, sell-down strategy
Execution
Determining distribution strategy and reviewing distribution materials (talk sheets/teasers, info memo, lender presentations)
Support the negotiation of mandate, commitment and syndication / placement documents
Review terms sheets / commitments documents and other transaction materials (for example due diligence)
Preparation and completion of Loan Syndicate reports for Credit
Attending roadshow and other investor meetings and calls with Sales as appropriate, providing as much support as possible for detailed investor questions on structure and transaction analyses
Coordinating with other Syndicate colleagues (globally) to optimize distribution and liquidity, particularly for illiquid deals
Coordinating syndication process with Sales, allocating and closing
Product Development
Generating ideas for new private debt solutions based on investor feedback / investment demands
Investor Development
Working with Sales to develop investor appetite for AFS products
Contribute to developing core investor relationships with specific accounts
Essential Experience (in order of importance)
Strong knowledge of structured loan and / or bond product gained within leading arranging bank(s) – terms, documents, syndication and closing mechanics.
Good understanding of investor market – bank and institutional – able to build business enhancing relationships.
Client (issuer/investor) relationship skills, track record in running multiple deals and execute though a typical syndicate deal timeline.
