This is a new role within the E&Es Strategic Business Unit (SBU) and therefore we are seeking someone who can come in and really shape the strategy for Marketing and Sales for the next 2 – 5 years and ensure that this delivers the ambitious E&E targets for growth. This is an exciting opportunity and we are seeking a dynamic, highly experience marketing and sales professional who can:

Lead a shift in strategy towards a focus on audiences and market segmentation;
Bring together the existing areas of CRM, customer management, pricing, product development and digital with the newly created insight function into a cohesive and aligned capability;
Develop an enhanced audience-led marketing and sales model and capability that helps raise professional standards globally, and through which the regions and countries are held to account for business performance; and
Ensure that marketing and sales function for E&E is well connected and represented throughout The British Council, contributing to and being informed by the overall marketing strategy for The British Council.
To do this, you will need:
A proven track record of developing global marketing and sales strategies and turning these into reality;
The ability to work in a matrix, using your highly developed influencing and communication skills to identify and resolve marketing and sales challenges and support the implementation of solutions;
Experience of successfully leading a multi-function team across a global matrix which has the customer journey as a primary driver;
To demonstrate that you are a collaborative, highly skilled leader who has and can develop programmes of activity that are compelling, effective, engage and secure buy in from others globally.
