Job description
What is the role?

The Director of Communications will oversee external communications and media relations for Dow Jones in the EMEA region, based in London. Reporting to the Chief Communications Officer, this is both a strategic and executional role, responsible for driving regional awareness for The Wall Street Journal franchise, Financial News and Dow Jones’s suite of Professional Information Business (PIB) products, comprising Factiva, Risk & Compliance,
Dow Jones Newswires and Dow Jones VentureSource. This position will also lead internal communications locally in London and around the region as needed.

In addition to the CCO, the Director will work alongside the company’s Chief Customer Officer, as well as Wall Street Journal, Dow Jones and Financial News journalists in Europe

What is my personal contribution?

The successful candidate will be well-versed in the broader digital media and technology landscape as well as B2B communications. There should be a demonstrated record of success in driving product launches, thought leadership initiatives and crisis communication.

What do you need from me?

•Extensive professional experience in B2B, media and/or mobile/technology, developing and implementing impactful campaigns

•Experience working pan-regionally in Europe

•Strong writing and editing skills are critical

•Strong working knowledge of top-tier conferences and speaking engagements

•Experience in partnering across large, highly collaborative internal teams

•Fluency across social media channels

•Demonstrable flexibility to a fast moving environment
