Job Description:
The CGBU Consulting EMEA Architecture Practice provides Communications Stack Architectual Solutions covering CRM, Order Managment, Billing, Charging, Inventory and Activation in the BSS and OSS domains. The department has a team of strong End to End Architects that deliver high value solutions, achitecture consulting and consulting presales with a focus on strategic projects, project start up, architectural supervision and best practice.
Responsibilities



General
Customer facing role at many levels to CxO
Requires travel across EMEA and may involve up to 80% of time working at customer locations.
Working directly with senior customer stakeholders to understand their issues and objectives and through this influence, define and agree the solution and systems architecture
Interface with project team members to review project plans and dependencies from an End to End technical perspective.
Assist Program and Project Managers in the delivery of a high quality & reliable End to End implementation in a reasonable timeframe with minimum technical obstacles or delays.
Responsible for coordinating the strategic synthesis of customer needs and expectations into future product development discussions.
Act as technical lead for capturing high level business requirements and technical requirements for an End to End solution
Communicating regularly and personally to all practice members
Building effective working relationships with designated partner organisation(s)
Work closely with product management to ensure customers requirements and industry trends are captured and considered
Conduct and lead workshops and participating in multi-product solution architecture design and prototyping where appropriate
Communicate ideas effectively and promote internal and external education

Sales and Presales
Provide guidance to the Oracle program managers, project managers, Solution Architects, product architects and the implementation team with respect to estimating and planning
Identify key End to End work packages and use cases for implementation and provide and lead estimates for planning and pricing of projects
Support the sales cycle working closely with sales account managers and pre-sales engineers to define account technical strategies, define technical solutions, provide pre-sales assistance and deliver to customers.
Own the solution transition from sales and pre-sales into delivery
Be able to present at Trade Shows and prominent Telco Industry events with authority
Ability to govern and lead large demonstrations and Proof of Concepts
Leadership and Group Development

Actively seeking opportunities to develop best practice across practice boundaries, and contributing to the development of consulting practices as a whole

Ensure the latest methodologies are implemented and tailored for best practice delivery of CGBU projects

Provide thought leadership and mentoring for the Architecture team and Program/Project managers

Experience


Excellent Knowledge of key Telecommunication domains such as IP, MPLS, Voice, VoIP, wireless (inc 3G, LTE), ATM, FR, SDH, PDH, optical, Broadband and the services that are carried by them
Knowledge of the communications industry from a consulting perspective
Must have experience of building and leading consulting teams
10+ Years experience in the architecture, design development and implementation of information technology systems/solutions for the communications industry
Extensive experience in the telecommunications industry with network technologies and network management processes
10+ Years experience of delivering major software deployment projects
Ideally, knowledge of the Oracle Comms footprint and solution stack
Knowledge of Industry standards, software development tools and software development processes
Clear understanding of the communications market place and the issues faced by operators
Clear knowledge of technical issues as they pertain to the Telecom industry
Working knowledge of Telecom industry standards and business processes
Ideally, experience of working across countries in and have the understanding of different cultures
English speaking

As an acknowledged authority within Oracle, this senior level consulting position is responsible for creating and implementing innovative solutions with industry-wide impact. Leads the solution design and implementation aspects of engagement(s) ensuring high quality, integrated solutions within constraints of time and budget.

Analyzes business needs to help ensure Oracle solution meets the customers objectives by combining industry best practices, product knowledge, and business acumen. As a position of technical/professional influence, this individual frequently operates at the leading edge of technology. Recommends and justifies enhancements to Oracle products to meet very complex customer needs. Exercises creativity and independent judgment in developing methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria to deliver functional and technical expertise on a wide range of business and technology solutions. Leads experienced consulting teams on challenging projects; works on significant and unique issues. As a thought leader and trusted advisor, effectively influences difficult decisions at the leadership-level of customer organizations. Enables business development efforts by providing subject matter expertise. Resolves very complex customer escalations. Drives customer process direction and decisions by providing domain leadership within relevant industries on end-to-end enterprise solutions. Creates new solution sets based on assessment of industry needs, market demands and knowledge of competitive product offerings.

10+ years of experience relevant to this position including 5 years of consulting experience. Management or team leadership experience preferred. Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience preferred. Product or technical expertise relevant to practice focus. Ability to lead large teams. Strong influencing and negotiation skills. Ability to travel as needed.
