Shutterstock is seeking a Director of Content Strategy for our Editorial image and video offering. We want to hire a compelling, creative and experienced strategist who can deliver vision, execute against it, and drive growth for our global Editorial business.
We are looking for a strong strategic thinker who understands the changing media landscape and who can help us capitalize on global opportunities in entertainment, sports, news and archival content.
The Director of Content Strategy, Editorial is a new position at Shutterstock. We are seeking a collaborator who can work, lead and manage across different departments and geographies and build and execute on a short and long term Editorial Content strategy roadmap.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage, lead, develop and mentor a strong team of photographers, content producers and contributors
Develop, implement and maintain Editorial content strategy in support of Shutterstock’s global customer base
Drive strategic relationships with publishers, PR agencies, and other partners to deliver new, unique and differentiated content
Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Product Development and analytics teams to maximise market opportunities
Drive tangible and measurable results
Work closely with Editorial General Manager, Content Operations and Photographers on ideas, budgets and plans
Present at conferences, attend events and assume public role as a face of Shutterstock Editorial Content Offering
DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
7-10+ years of digital experience across entertainment, news, PR agency, music, sports ideally at a large national or global organization
Proven ability to develop and execute on content strategy
Outstanding communication, influencing, organizational and analytical skills
Experience promoting company or brand at events or conferences
Confident public speaker a must
Proven ability to balance priorities, projects, budgets and tasks
Proven ability to deliver consistently high-quality work
Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
Experience with, and high level of comfort in, various digital storytelling platforms
Experience working across different languages, countries and cultures preferred
Startup experience a plus
