Partnerships Group Overview
The EMEA (Europe, Middle East, and Africa) BD & Partnerships Group is responsible for all the Business Development activities and all the existing Partnerships with leading Telcos, Publishers and Portals across Yahoo! in EMEA. The scope of these partnerships ranges from the monetization of partners online inventory (display advertising, or search traffic); it also covers from 3rd party content deals, to 3rd party syndication offerings and up to the entire online operations of Portals. We are here to ensure that our Partners have an excellent customer experience with Yahoo!. The BD & Partnerships Group works very closely with our Sales, Media and Ad Technology teams. Team members are responsible for signing, developing and renewing our business relations with partners, ensuring a world class account management.
Business Development Director, UK
The UK Business Development Director, will be leading all new business opportunities with potential online Partners and Publishers for our exclusive Site Rep ad network in the UK and will also be responsible for building content partnerships with leading content and media companies, developing strong day to day relationships with business counterparts, understanding business and product strategy objectives and ensuring those objectives are integrated into Yahoo!'s business strategy.
She/he will have the ongoing responsibility for developing our existing Ex TAC Revenue generated by new strategic partnerships and she/he will have also the direct responsibility of prospecting, negotiating and closing executing key content and media partnerships for Yahoo!,
In his role, the UK Business Development Director will be:
- Working closely with the UK Head of Sales and the UK Head of Media in order to identify the needs for new ads or content partnerships.
- Establish pipeline of opportunities and markets strategies correlated to Yahoo! global strategy.
- Prospecting potential partners and, upon identification, opening discussions with prospects, negotiating business terms, contracts and all relevant duties associated with developing new business and
- Working with Legal and Finance team in order to define the best business proposal to the partners and to get all the internal approvals regarding new business opportunities.
- Support New Project initiatives ranging from M&A opportunities, to Yahoo! Suite initiative and transformational deals around the Mobile for the UK market
Competencies
• Strong Influencing and Negotiating Skills with Excellent business acumen
• Demonstrated experience in deal modeling complex offering and pitching these to 3rd party.
• Strong communication and relationship skills at all levels
• Demonstrated understanding of cross-functional and global business requirements including strong distance stakeholder relationship management
• Strong business judgment and insight; able to look at issues from multiple perspectives
• Innovating for customers- high focus on anticipating and finding new ways to meet customer needs

Requirements / Experience
• Demonstrated extensive experience in the Online, Technology, Media industries in a Business Development role.
• Extensive digital business development experience is required, with proven track record in Deals.
• Experience with complex deal structuring
• Experience in a leadership position with team management.
• High degree of comfort overseeing major projects, leading teams, and working with senior executives
• Knowledge of the Internet business and its competitive landscape
• Consumer marketing and competitive analysis skills
• Excellent leadership, prioritization, communication, analytic and quantitative skills
• Must be able to work within a cross-functional team environment
• Organizational, interpersonal, and influential communication skills
• Fluent English (written and spoken) is essential and additional languages are a strong +
• BS/BA is required MBA is a plus.
