Media Operations Lead EMEA Google London

Job Description: • 2-minute read •
As a Marketing manager, you are a fully dedicated business leader, shaping the future of one of our many Google products. Whether you're on a consumer product (like Gmail, Search, Maps, Chrome, Android) or a business product (AdWords, AdSense, DoubleClick, Analytics), you take part in a complete marketing experience as you lead every facet of the product's journey. From determining positioning, naming, competitive analysis, feature prioritization and external communications, you help shape the voice of the product and help it grow a loyal consumer base. This means you work with a cross-functional team across sales, corporate communications, legal, webmasters, product development, engineering and more. In this role, you'll be involved with product marketing strategy from beginning to end.
You are an operations expert on Google media that makes things run right and right on-time. Every year, Google has hundreds of media campaigns live across EMEA. As our Operations Lead, your job is to ensure that we are able to execute flawlessly on our media ambitions - all while ensuring our day-to-day activities continue to run smoothly and that we are able to track all of our media activities and manage our media agencies in a fast-paced, always on environment. You will need to think creatively to solve for problems that inevitably will come up and also be able to thrive in ambiguity while also maintaining a good understanding of how our day-to-day activity may impact the company at a larger level.

You will be responsible for creating best practices and corporation-wide advertising policies and procedures for all of Google EMEA Marketing. You will need to find the balance between rules that protect Google and inspiring innovation within our media programs. You’re not interested in nay-saying, rather how your expertise and insight can empower Marketing teams to create the smartest, most efficient solutions possible.

You will work directly with numerous teams outside of Marketing including Finance, Legal and Procurement to ensure compliance with our ad policies, budget management and beyond.

Know the user. Know the magic. Connect the two. At its core, marketing at Google starts with technology and ends with the user, bringing both together in unconventional ways. Our job is to demonstrate how Google's products solve the world's problems--from the everyday to the epic, from the mundane to the monumental. And we approach marketing in a way that only Google can--changing the game, redefining the medium, making the user the priority, and ultimately, letting the technology speak for itself.

Responsibilities
Lead responsibility for media operations across EMEA, plus responsibility for coordinating with the global Media Operations team, based in Mountain View.
Engage and lead our media agencies to ensure their day-to-day work is flawless and help them go beyond quick fixes to long term forward thinking solutions. Responsible for media agency compensation and negotiations.
Be responsible for all operational processes - from the prioritization and review of all media campaign requests, through to timings, media budget approvals and media plan sign off across EMEA. Proactive development of Media Lab projects across disciplines to identify opportunities where we can bridge them together to leverage the best of our work.
Work cross-functionally with Finance, Business Development, Legal, PR, and Compliance to ensure our strategic efforts and priorities are aligned within our marketing efforts.
Be aware of small issues and identify how disparate events may contribute to larger systemic inefficiencies. You will also attend major product briefings and meetings and be highly visible to senior marketing leadership.

BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience.
Experience in the EMEA regions.
