Role Overview

The Director, Major Accounts is responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with client with SunGards Major Accounts Program globally. The position is focused upon selling SunGard's Asset Management products and services to global strategic accounts. This position is supported by product management, professional services functions and sales support staff and marketing teams.

The Account Director will be based in London, reporting to the Head of Major Accounts.

Responsibilities
* Demonstrates strong business acumen, successful negotiation skills and strategic networking savvy to build and achieve overall revenue objectives.
* Drive new revenue by identifying opportunities, participating in sales calls, delivering customized presentations, writing proposals and providing subject-matter expertise.
* Identify, qualify and close new business in the product lines and services to achieve individual and team revenue goals.
* Manage the complete sales cycle, including working with the clients and the supporting teams, from the prospecting stage through closing and implementation.
* Identify and analyze underlying client's business and sales issues in order to match the product or solution to the client's requirements.
* Maintain and report regularly on a pipeline of sales activity, revenue forecasts and closing timetables.
* Work collaboratively with entire team sales, product management, and professional services to accomplish revenue and operational goals.
* Build strong relationships across client's organisation by creating trust and confidence at multiple levels, including users, key contacts, managers and C-level executives, to increase revenue opportunities.
* Has ability and willingness to travel up to 60%.

Position Requirements:
Essential Skills

* Bachelor's Degree or equivalent of experience and education in a related field
* Proven experience as a Senior Strategic Account Manager, servicing the financial services industry
* Knowledge of sophisticated asset servicing solutions, investment operations and technology products
* A charismatic leader and team player, with the proven ability to be part of a high-performance organization
* A direct communicator with the confidence to address operational challenges and issues in an open and straightforward manner
* Demonstrated ability and track record to achieve strong sales, revenue and growth goals
* Excellent presentation, writing and communications skills. Includes the ability to present complex solutions in a customer-facing environment in a communication style appropriate to the audience, which will include C-level executives
* A stable and energetic personality, able to give and take criticism, and demand high performance from himself/herself and colleagues. Develops rapport easily, is open to new ideas, and possesses a well-developed sense of humor

Desired Skills
* Has the executive presence, interpersonal skills and industry stature to effectively represent SunGard to the senior-most levels of client organisations, strategic business partners and the marketplace at large
* Strong goal/results-orientation and highly motivated with the ability to grasp the "big picture" view
