Background about the role
Tesco is a global multichannel leader with an ecommerce presence in 11 markets. We are looking for a passionate digital marketer to work with our international markets to help them grow their ecommerce business and how they approach marketing. Based in the UK with extensive travel to Europe and Asia, we are looking for a candidate with knowledge across the digital mix including CRM, display advertising, search and affiliate marketing. The successful candidate will be data driven and have a passion for personalised marketing, you will be a great communicator, resilient and self-motivated.

Key responsibilities/accountabilities
Reporting to the Head of eCommerce marketing your responsibilities will be to up skill; share best practice and support our international marketing teams with the following.
Supporting our markets with developing an online customer acquisition and customer retention strategy – use customer insight to understand then continually trial and review what approaches work and trigger the desired customer behaviour
Identifying the most appropriate and strongest trade messages online for different areas and/or regions
Developing a dedicated trade marketing strategy and robust trade plan to achieve sales targets – assist in developing a 12 month rolling, customer led trade marketing calendar for the online business(es)
Understanding the various marketing channels available to engage with the customer (both new and existing) – understand when to use each channel, the effectiveness and cost of each channel and how to continually optimise them
Leading innovation for the business on online customer acquisition, customer retention and loyalty management ensuring that Tesco are marketing leaders

You will need to be:
Very comfortable liaising and influencing at all levels of management. You should be a good ambassador for Tesco with excellent interpersonal skills.
Collaborative, the role is extremely cross functional and requires the ability to work with people at all levels and across a range of countries.
Consistent in your views, decisions, ways of working and your efforts to build strong relationships with your colleagues. You will need to be outward looking but able to ‘take people with you’ in complex decisions and implementations.

Technical
You will need to have:
Outstanding customer focus to deliver a trade plan that is centred on the needs of the customer and thereby increases visitor numbers, loyalty, conversion rates and basket size.
Operational knowledge of areas of ecommerce marketing: in particular CRM, SEARCH, DISPLAY ADVERTISING AND AFFILIATE MARKETING
Practical experience of developing and implementing an digital marketing strategy
Practical experience of planning and implementing event campaigns across online channels
Fantastic written and verbal communication skills – structured, flexible and clear.
