Job description
Tangentix' success is driven by bringing great games to gamers, giving them a chance to try the game for free, and then delivering them an unlocked game when they choose to purchase.
This is a senior role to lead the team responsible for building the systems and running them that will drive this entire journey, including google and partner-ad systems, analytics and optimisation, delivery, conversion, payments and key delivery.
Using his/her own analytical skills, and iterative testing and assessment, the candidate will be required to build a deep understanding of what influences the customer acquisition process. On the basis of this understanding the candidate will be responsible for building and operating the systems that deliver great performance in this key part of the business.
The candidate will be expected to manage and grow the team that iteratively develops and improves both automated and human processes.
From time to time the candidate will talk to his peers at major game publishers around integration and key management systems.
Desired Skills and Experience
Overall
Great technical team lead with very high analytical skills and prior experience of applying programming to analytical and optimisation tasks. A willingness to contribute to constructing the systems and build great tools for the future, combined with a determination to drive results and the experience of managing a small team of technical staff.
Domain knowledge
In addition to an understanding of web services and their implementation, including the basics of SSL, .net based systems and MS SQL databases, the candidate would ideally have some prior experience of metrics and conversion management in e-commerce systems.
Additionally, it would be very helpful if the candidate had experience with internet advertising campaigns and ideally to their automated management.
Management Skills
The candidate must have previous experience taking the lead in a small team, in this case 3-4 developers, balancing a day-to-day line management role and contributing directly to building the tools that are critical to the company’s performance.
Must be used to prioritising tasks amongst a team and delegating effectively & have prior experience of a line management role.
Must feel comfortable with being involved in both recruitment of new team members to meet market needs.
Analytical Skills
Strong skills and experience in monitoring and analysing the performance of systems, spotting opportunities to improve performance through analysis, and predicting the impact of process changes on that performance.
We expect the candidate to have a full set of experience and skills using both spreadsheets and databases to manage system performance.
Programming Skills
Must have several years experience with the Microsoft stack- Azure, .net, C#, MS-SQL within a versioning and revision controlled environment. Particularly, must be experienced building connected web services and using third party API’s.
Customer-facing skills
Although not a primary part of the role, the candidate is likely to have occasional contact with publishers and must be capable of communicating politely, diplomatically and effectively when required.
