Director - Product Management - ShipServ - London

Job description
ShipServ is seeking to recruit a senior product management professional to take ownership of a portfolio of products that form a core part of our rapidly growing B2B e-marketplace for the global marine industry. This role will drive the strategy and continued development of these products and will serve as a vital link between our customers and sales teams and our product development organisation. This is a demanding product management environment that requires an exceptionally intelligent, creative and articulate individual.

Reporting to the SVP Product Management, the successful candidate will have a proven track record of defining an innovative product strategy (preferably in B2B e-commerce) and managing a portfolio of products, working with customers and stakeholders located in many different countries. They will possess a blend of business savvy and technical knowledge and will be able to lead through influence in a matrix environment.

Responsibilities
Product ownership of a portfolio of existing and future products
Facilitate the formulation of strategy for those products in collaboration with the senior executive team
Performing customer discovery to identify new product opportunities and validate market hypotheses
Developing and defending financial models
Product discovery with internal/external stakeholders in collaboration with UX and development
Developing clickable and live data prototypes
Writing and prioritising user stories as part of the Scrum process
Participate in stand-ups, backlog grooming, sprint planning and retrospectives as the product owner role
Supporting the field sales team as a technical pre-sales resource
Working with marketing to facilitate product launches and product marketing programs
Proactively determining and monitoring product KPIs and reporting to stakeholders

Desired Skills and Experience
5+ years of experience in an internet product management role, preferably in B2B
Demonstrable familiarity with ‘Cagan’ or ‘Lean Startup’ approach to Product Management
Hands-on experience of SCRUM or other agile processes as product owner
Experience of working with both internet and field sales channels
Computer Science or MBA degree an advantage
Experience of the marine and offshore industries would be an advantage but is not a requirement
