Main Function Of The Job
This role is critical to the successful operation of Global Payments by providing leadership and direction to the Global Payments RCRM team, which provides independent assurance on the effectiveness of the control environment, ensuring; compliance with UK and International regulation (e.g. Sanctions, AML) across global jurisdictions, Industry payment schemes, Barclays policies (e.g. manual payments); that Fraud (internal/external) is effectively mitigated and client service expectations are met. Global Payments is a diverse and complex business that processes circa 8m transactions daily with a value of c.£560bn, manages sanctions screening requirements, providing payment services for Corporate, Retail, Wealth, IB and BarclayCard businesses.

Main Duties & Responsibilities
The Director, RCRM, Global Payments leads and is responsible for the oversight of the Risk and Control frameworks across 10 sites (UK and International) and supports the Head of Global Payments in the monitoring of the Payments control environment. This involves leading a team who provide independent control oversight by managing RCSAs, conformance testing, Incident/Risk Event reporting, and support issue remediation. Global Payments has a significant growth and change agenda, which the RCRM team support through the provision of due diligence and operational risk assessment of any business expansion and major change.

As a key member of the Corporate Operations RCRM Management team, the role holder also has responsibility for driving an extensive risk management programme pan Corporate Operations. In addition, the role holder leads a team managing a range of shared services activities, including the New Product Approval process, Right-shoring service, Audit issue tracking and development of the Conduct Risk framework across the broader business.

Person Requirements
Proven experience in an Operational Control environment.
Credibility and gravitas to challenge and coach upwards, horizontally as well as own leadership of team members; facilitate the effective working of leadership teams.
Experience in financial services and information technology, with a wide ranging understanding of payment products globally and risk specifically.
Proven depth of expertise in strategy execution, with experience of leading change across a multi-site risk and control function.
Experience of working successfully in different cultures in a sensitive manner in order to create strong relationships with senior leadership.
Strong working knowledge of the regulations and standards of relevant industry bodies and organisations.
Experience of continuous process and control improvement for both efficiency and exposure reasons.
Credible experience of advanced data analytics and the ability to use this to influence at the highest level.
Collaborative and able to share best practice at all levels.
Highly commercial and understanding the need for back office and central functions to be seen to add value.
Able to cope under pressure, managing a wide range of priorities with multiple objectives.
Politically astute and able to understand the dynamics of large, complex organisations.
Highly effective communicator with excellent interpersonal skills.
Must have the potential for further development personally and professionally with the ability to take on other roles within the Group.
