Director - Structured Export Finance - Standard Chartered Bank - London
Job Description
* The identification, development, marketing, negotiation and execution of profitable Structured Export Finance transactions in South Asia region with support to Project Finance transactions in the region utilising support from Export Credit Agencies and similar parties.
* Use of Export Finance, Multilateral and Developmental Finance products and risk mitigation techniques to reduce credit and funding risks in both, existing and future assets (as applicable);
* Supporting the team and Managing Directors as required.

Key Roles & Responsibilities
* Generation of new business opportunities
o Identifying and originating transactions from borrower/buyer in the identified markets with focus on corporate, banks and sovereign borrowers/buyers;
o Planning and implementation of marketing activities in assigned markets and following through on lead generations;
o Development of relationships with key individuals at borrowers, project sponsors, exporters and ECAs;
o Co-operation with other teams to ensure comprehensive marketing approach and cross-selling.
* Work as part of or lead deal teams ensuring that business opportunities and transactions are developed and executed
o in a timely and cost efficient way;
o consistent with Group and Departmental strategies;
o with a focus on supporting existing and target client relationships; and
o in compliance with all applicable credit risk criteria, internal approval procedures and the process map; and
o with satisfactory legal documentation to avoid loss.
* Ensuring that pursued transactions generate attractive risk adjusted return for the bank and support sustainable sources of business for the bank as a whole.
Qualifications & Skills
* Macro economic experience and country risk knowledge covering commercial, political, legal environment, particularly across South Asia
* Sound credit analysis skills relating to corporate, sovereign and bank debt particularly with regard to medium to long term cross border lending;
* Sales, marketing and negotiation skills;
* Knowledge and understanding of loan documentation and the structure of agreements, in particular relative to project and export finance cross border term lending;
- knowledge and understanding of the financing programmes offered by the various key export credit agencies including the ECA programmes for supporting aircraft and ship financings, Developmental Financial Institutions and Multilateral Institutions
* Computer skills relating to MS Excel, word processing and presentational applications;
* Ability to communicate effectively at all levels;
* Strong written and presentational skills;
* Ability to win mandates with minimal supervision and proven ability to execute and close strategic transactions;
* Sound knowledge of Corporate Finance products;
* Act proactively and bring ideas to clients and colleagues;
* Constructive deal team leadership and strong teamwork approach.
