Senior Director - NEMEA Marketing - VMware - Frimley
Job description
The Sr Director, NEMEA Marketing will be leading a team of 16 people across UK, Ireland, Scandinavian countries, Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg. Her/his mission is to align VMware Inc goals and the local needs and translate those into a consistent, effective and scalable marketing plan that will generate the thought leadership, awareness and demand to support the growth of the business. This position is a senior role, requiring experience both in Enterprise and SMB, Direct and Indirect sales, Channels and Alliances, Communications and Demand Generation. Strong Planning and Execution skills are required.
Responsibilities:
* Lead the NEMEA Marketing Team (16 people). Hire, Retain, Motivate and Develop the Members of the NEMEA marketing team
* Be an active part of the NEMEA management team, defining the NEMEA strategy and go to market alongside the Regional VP/Directors
* Be an active part of the EMEA marketing leadership team, defining the EMEA Marketing strategy and go to market alongside the Marketing VP/Directors
* Promote, personally and with the team, VMware as one of the most important and strategic Software vendors in the marketplace
* Develop and Execute an integrated NEMEA marketing plan, based on the business goals and results expected
* Results expected in Thought Leadership, Pipe Generation, Pipe Acceleration and Relationship Building
* Drive Pipe Coverage (3x) and Marketing Contribution to the Sales Pipe
* Execute Program & Build Relations for: Media, Partners, Customers, Executives
* Run an integrated set of Global, Regional and Local Thought leadership and Demand Generation Campaigns
* Manage and optimize ROI on budget in excess of m per year
Requirements:
* Fluent in English in addition to Native Language
* Proven International Sales/Marketing Experience
• Business Orientated Marketer, capable of linking strategy to execution
• Deep Understanding of Business to Business marketing: Enterprise and SMB
• Strong knowledge of the IT industry and the key players and their strategies
• Personal qualities such as: self driven, autonomous, influential, perseverant, reliable, direct and creative
• Needs to be a shrewd negotiator, very good team player and excellent relationship builder
• Able both to clearly articulate planning logic, execution details, and results of past programs created and executed, and to suggest new programs
• Able to present company and product positioning at executive events
* Strong problem solving capabilities at a strategic level
• Based in the UK Main office, and able to travel up to 40% of the time
Education, Training, Experience:
* BA Degree or equivalent required, MBA or equivalent preferred
* Strong IT marketing and enterprise sales alignment required
* Previous pipeline responsibility required
* Strong Microsoft Office skills required
* Must be a modern marketer with deep understanding of social media, marketing automation, CRM (salesforce.com preferred)
