Tax Manager - EMEiA - Apple - London


Job description
Reporting to the EMEIA Tax Director, we are seeking to hire an EMEIA Tax Manager. The role is located in our offices in Central London but requires regular travel including to Ireland, other countries in the region and California.

In this pivotal role, you will be able to deliver tax solutions that support and assist Apple’s businesses, minimise adjustments from tax audits and partner with the business to ensure tax risks are understood and minimised on an ongoing basis.

When working with colleagues based in California ( 8 hour time difference), or traveling, a flexible approach to working hours will advantageous
A second European language would be an advantage but not essential – English is the business language throughout Apple’s European office


Description

The EMEIA tax team is responsible for working with Apple's business teams to assess the tax consequences of our business activities, development and expansion, the region's transfer pricing policies and advising on and managing the overall international tax risks of Apple's EMEIA companies.

The small team divides responsibilities for the business areas and business projects in a way that is flexible and can be altered to meet the needs of the business focus.The responsibilities of the EMEIA Tax Manager will include:

* Providing strong support to the EMEIA Director in overall policy and team matters

* Providing advice to world-wide tax, treasury and business teams on the EMEIA tax implications related to new business areas, business changes and changes to group structures

* Providing tax advice on business projects and working with multi functional teams to help work through problems and challenges to aid project success

* Working with local and centralised accounting teams to support tax audits and tax enquiries and control our risks in relation to International tax aspects of those audits as well as taking the active lead on leading these teams in relation to enquiries focusing on international tax matters

* Working with world-wide tax and treasury on the European aspects of repatriation of profits and financing of European activities

* Supporting US GAAP tax accounting, FIN 48 reviews and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements

Education

The successful candidate will be a self-motivated individual capable of developing solutions to projects independently and be able to successfully communicate those solutions to the wider business, tax, treasury and finance teams. Being able to work in multi disciplinary teams and successfully communicate views and points with people from all functions and levels.

Due to the nature of the role, you are likely to have the backing of a degree and relevant professional qualifications (likely to be upwards of 8 years post qualified), as well as proven experience in European / International Tax. Experience in industry and working for a US Multinational Corporation would be considered advantageous, as would experience of European Retail.
