Job Description
Employees in this role have the experience and knowledge to support both the sales of new business opportunities and the delivery of services to clients. They must understand large and complex services engagements in their area of expertise, including the appropriate methods and skills needed to solve business problems in the client's industry. They establish strong, trusted relationships with clients through their ability to articulate solutions, and other areas of IBM used in the delivery of complex services. They identify new business opportunities, creatively participate in the development and sales of solutions, and assist IBM in winning the business.
When not participating in sales activities such as new business development or bid and proposal activity, they support and lead billable client activities within their area of practice and participate in related Sector, Solution, or Community activities. They are accountable for the financial success of engagements directly managed, as well as the generation of services revenue with the sales of new business.
An Associate Partner is required to drive significant revenue growth for GBS in the Oracle and also ensure profitable delivery and excellence in business execution across this growing business portfolio.
The successful candidate will have a track record of being able to shape deals and their solution, to develop a compelling client proposition and to have commercial client conversations leading to a deal.
Overview of Skills
• Drive signings and revenue growth in key clients in the UK & globally
• Leverage key IBM Oracle relations for key growth opportunities, aligned to the go to market approach with Oracle
• Establish senior level executive relations in target sectors
• Have established relationships with Oracle and related major software vendors
• This role will have responsibility for business development, programme management and delivery excellence across a defined set of contracts and clients
• Will successfully combine gravitas, intellect, deep industry understanding and expertise with drive and proven experience.
• Track record of creating enduring client relationships based on trust, successful business development and credible programme execution
• Has developed relationships of mutual trust with people inside and outside of their organisation based on respect, integrity, positive regard and an appreciation of the uniqueness of the individual
• Willingness to commit significant amount of time to develop themselves, and other individuals, teams, and the Oracle community within IBM.
This role requires a thorough understanding of the nature of the business problems in a given industry, and the products and solutions that provide value in solving those problems. Is knowledgeable in the trends and directions of the industry, the marketplace, and the players.
