Job Description
A Director-level opportunity has arisen within the Global Markets Risk (GMR) organisation, covering part of the EMEA Equities Line of Business (LOB), a top tier Equities franchise. The EMEA Equities business takes market risk through its Execution Services segment (e.g. Cash Equities, Delta1) and through its Client Solutions segment (e.g. Non-linear derivatives, Financing, Corporate Transactions).
The Senior Director Risk will take responsibility for a subset of the desks within the EMEA Equities business and perform quantitative and qualitative analysis on all material market risks within your domain of control.
The successful candidate will become a senior member of the EMEA team which is part of GMR and will have up to 3 direct reports.
As Senior Director Market Risk Your Main Responsibilities Will Involve
Initiating daily dialogue with the trading desks to stay abreast of market dynamics and evolutions in trading flows and strategies
Providing risk feed review and sign-off to ensure risk data is captured accurately into the firm’s risk systems
Analysing and providing commentary of P&L/VaR/Risk drivers
Monitoring positions against market risk metrics and limits
Providing management of limit overages and the setting of limits in line with the firm’s risk appetite
Determining point of weakness stress analysis of the circumstances under which the portfolio could incur material losses
Analysing and approving of new products, non-standard trades, structured deals and business strategies
Liaising with other support and control functions to ensure a holistic approach to risk management
Escalating & reporting to senior management within GMR & the Equities business regionally / globally
Contributing to market risk regulatory capital analysis and ad hoc regulatory capital requests
Qualifications
As Senior Market Risk Manager your skills and qualifications will ideally include:
Previous Director-level experience in Equities Market Risk Management
An effective team player
Excellent problem solving skills
Highly motivated with the drive and potential to both lead/develop and learn from others
Excellent communication skills,
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with traders, senior management and other areas
