Job Description:
TBD is looking for an exceptionally motivated and talented Head of e-Commerce with a strong customer focus. Reporting to the Group Managing Director, this role will be responsible for driving the company’s international B2C website business forward, through development of new opportunities and the ability to help lead major change initiatives. They will support these initiatives with excellent analysis, influencing skills, retail experience, communication and decision making. This leader will have responsibility for vendor management, online content, site merchandising and product management, managing a high performing team whose primary goal is to grow the business internationally, creating the world's greatest book shopping experience.
Crucial is the ability to create imaginative solutions in order to develop meaningful relationships between the business and our customers worldwide.

Qualified candidates have a keen eye for global ecommerce and customer experience, have a direct impact on revenue, and have a proven track record of overall management of successful e-commerce businesses. They are able to work across multiple teams and use their excellent communication and persuasion skills to influence all levels of the organization. They have a strong affinity to technology and software and aren’t afraid of complex analysis.

Key Responsibilities

Working with respective teams and senior management to initiate a comprehensive e-Commerce business plan and to deliver this with exceptional results.
Define and develop the market vision, long-term growth strategy and financial objectives for the e-Commerce business.
Lead the research and analysis of customer needs, competitive information, and market/technology trends to determine business opportunities.
Drive innovations that will differentiate TBD from others in international market segments, aimed at improving customer experience, customer satisfaction, and revenue and profit growth.
Work cross functionally with company-wide teams in Technology, Operations, Marketing and Finance to drive sustainable process improvements across the functions which create year-over-year efficiency.
Focus on talent management of the e-Commerce team which includes effectively hiring and developing the best talent, and creating an environment which motivates people to thrive in their expertise and deliver aggressive results.

Professional experience in either e-Commerce, retail or consulting within a demanding corporate environment
Outstanding customer focus
Proven analytical skills and ability to influence people both internally and externally
Decisive and able to move with speed to implement ideas
A passionate self-starter, ready to take TBD’s customer experience to the next level
Strong communication skills, including ability to write compelling, concise documents and present your ideas with passion and persuasion
Strong retail or product background with proven ability to drive change
Clear evidence of managing and motivating a large team(s), both direct and indirect reports
Proven English skills – both verbal and written
University degree ideally in a technical or analytical discipline

Broad commercial awareness developed in a high-growth, fast-moving environment
MBA preferred
