Job Description:
The Commercial Executive reports to the Head of AECOM Construction Services (ACS) UK&I and works alongside the Construction Services UK Operations Director(s) and is accountable and responsible for the proactive leadership, management & support of
Competitive tendering, winning & commercial closure identified opportunities
Procurement, contractual, cost, risk, compliance and commercial project control / management within the requirements of the project execution plan for UK based construction projects
Development of relevant project controls, procedures & process to ensure managed & effective approach to project commercial management
UK ACS construction projects & business line P&L

The Commercial Executive will have relevant and previous experience of managing a portfolio of projects & reporting performance along with an inherent ability to recognise, mitigate & manage risk.
The Commercial Executive will have a keen interest in project delivery, & will lead in realising the AECOM safety for life expectations and ensure compliance with AECOM Vision & Values.

In the initial 3 months the Commercial Executive will work alongside the Commercial Director for Construction Services EMEA to understand relevant internal governance, systems and approval gateways.
Preferred Qualifications
UK & London commercial, residential & retail experience
Relevant D&B Lump sum contracting capabilities
Medium rise vertical construction experience
Commercial management of construction projects
Management of commercial staff
Change management
Strategic management of procurement
Resolution of contractual differences
Ability to be a strategic & innovative thinker
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Experience in negotiating with Clients and trade contractors
Technical understanding and working knowledge of forms of contract
Minimum Requirements
Reports to the Head of AECOM Construction Services
Reports to the EMEA Commercial Director through the initial 3 month period
Works alongside Construction Operations Director(s) – peer group
Responsible for the commercial performance of projects within the remit ensuring that risk is mitigated / managed, effective change management, & that commercial coverage exists at all times
Responsible for the timely preparation of financial reports to Operations team
Interface with finance team ensure & define business unit reporting / information requirements, that business unit complies with statutory obligations & that necessary liabilities are identified & Managed
Responsible for Client Commercial Satisfaction
Maintain effective communication within commercial department & Business Unit
Responsible for the recruitment & development of staff at all levels within the structure
Responsible for resource planning within the structure
Responsible for timely issue of invoices & collection of cash within the Business Unit
Liaising with other Commercial Managers within the Business Unit to ensure successful running of the business unit
Develop & maintain a common platform of commercial standards that can be applied throughout business unit & commercial team
Ensure that Business commercial standards, processes & procedures are applied by commercial team & all projects
Identify and manage business efficiency opportunities
Assist in bid preparation, submissions, negotiations & work winning
Assist In Contract & Risk Assessment Closure
Commitment to Lead & ensure that the AECOM safety for life, core values & visions are realised
Develop commercial awareness of Business Unit resources i.e. designers, Consultants etc
DOA / LOA compliance & the elevation of critical matters are communicated as soon as they become apparent with necessary corrective actions
