The specialized segment sales director will lead a focused effort across the EMEA region to grow Eaton’s sales in the marine, rail, utility, infrastructure, mining and other key growth segments. He/She is expected to identify and book profitable new business through cross group coordination with EMEA’s businesses, marketing, and country sales organizations.
The role will be responsible for the penetration strategy for these specialized segments and identifying which accounts, designers, and contractors to focus on for growth. The individual must have a thorough understanding of the project sales process and key account management, including how to interact with multiple customer functions. The position is directly responsible for profitable growth in these segments and for working with the business, marketing, and country sales organizations to obtain the appropriate regional resources to support this growth. This will include helping countries to design strategic business and sales plans to successfully enter markets and targeted accounts, significantly growing business with end user accounts, and determining in which countries to focus in these segments. This role will require detailed coaching over account planning, opportunity win plans and direct involvement when needed.

· Building Eaton’s image in the segment with end users: Lead the effort to increase Eaton’s visibility with end users in the identified segments and to establish Eaton’s credibility as a provider of large engineered systems. A key focus will be on getting Eaton products added to AVL’s in these specialized segments.

· Developing an overall growth strategy and business plan for Eaton in the target segments. He/She will work in collaboration with Eaton’s operating divisions, EMEA marketing, and country sales organizations to build the business cases associated with new product, service or solution offerings, especially in IEC assemblies and Large System Groups, and grow significantly in these segments.

· Directing segment-specific cross group offers development: Responsible for working with the organization to identify opportunities for differentiation and push the development of new products, services and solutions in order to address segment needs.

· Supporting, coordinating and guiding our sales activity in the segment: Work closely with EMEA central marketing, EMEA businesses, and the country sales organizations to prioritize target customers and decision makers and ensure that key points of influence are covered.

· Build a complete Eaton project capabilities team throughout EMEA.

· In agreement with countries, marketing segment leaders, and global account organization, identify and target specific accounts in the identified segments. Clearly define the account strategy and penetration plan and help ensuring it is properly resourced.

· Build and develop a network of application engineers that can get Eaton’s offers specified. Target and select the key specifiers and consultants in the target segment and develop and support the execution of an effective plan for getting Eaton specified for major electrical projects.

· Build a regional tendering team. This organization will be the specialized back office for answering the RFQ for the targeted segments and accounts

· Lead the creation and execution of the opportunity plan and coordinate closely all Eaton involved parties to maximize our chances of success and margin.

Requirements:

· MBA or Masters Degree preferred. · 10+ years of related experience in Electrical business and international project management and leading teams in project based environments. · Demonstrated ability to inspire and coordinate others. The position requires entrepreneurial spirit, high degree of customer affinity and a very strong ability to influence others. · Strong executive presence and ability to relate well as a peer to leaders of target customers. · Must be able to take a leadership role in driving change. · Must be able to identify and implement new tools and processes. · Fluent written and spoken English required.
