Reporting to the Regional Divisional Director - Europe, this pivotal role will provide direct leadership and management to the Dealer and Key Account Manager teams in the United Kingdom. In addition, this role will provide leadership support to the wider regional sales and support teams with particular emphasis on Marketing and PR.

The Director of Dealing will be wholly accountable for executing on our UK customer engagement strategy to increase our market share of the UK FX market and to achieve financial results to plan in each quarter. You will be accountable for the leadership and aggregate performance of the UK Dealing team, formulating and delivering financial plans and budget to internal stakeholders, chiefly to the UK and wider Senior Leadership team throughout WUBS.
The Director of Dealing leads a team of four desks located in London and Cambridgeshire with over 50 Dealers and Key Account Managers covering in excess of 10,000 customers of WU Business Solutions. The dealing desks are responsible for transaction management and execution both online and offline (spot, forward and options) and customer relationship management (both on and offline).
The role requires you to build and maintain strong partnerships with key internal stakeholders including Operations, Credit, Risk and Accreditation, Compliance, Finance, Product, Dealing Operations, Middle Office and Sales Team to ensure advocacy and support for the Dealing team and their strategy is promoted throughout the whole business.
Accountability for meeting internal compliance and regulatory procedures is paramount, especially within the context of Western Union’s internal banking obligations. Furthermore, driving your staff to align themselves to a dynamic regulatory environment for both internal and external stakeholders is vital for this role.
The Director of Dealing UK is accountable for growing and maintaining the capability of the Heads of Desk and the Dealers within their teams, ensuring that skills remain relevant and continue to support the growth of our and our customers businesses.
About you
You will have a proven track record of leading and managing a successful sales force and managing to a clear management cadence
You will have recent experience in working in a regulated environment
You will have extensive technical & fundamental understanding of FX products including forwards, swaps and options
The ability and knowledge on how to structure basic FX hedging solutions is a must
You will be an expert in disseminating technical and fundamental knowledge into a saleable form
You will have excellent presentation and communication skills.
Solid computer skills with ability to use MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Reuters & Bloomberg will be essential in this position.
