The Director of the President’s Office advises and supports the President in his/her role as head of the Bank, liaising with the Bank’s senior management, the Board of Directors and key external stakeholders. He/she also manages the President’s Office, attends the Executive Committee as observer and helps in the preparation of strategic decisions for the Bank’s Top Management.
Accountabilities and Responsibilities
• Advise the President on the Bank’s strategic direction, organisation and management.
• Orchestrate good decision making by providing the right advice from the right stakeholders at the right time.
• Supervise the Personal Assistant in planning the President’s diary in line with his/her objectives
• Solve problems of a cross-cutting nature effectively and quietly.
• Advance and maintain strong working relationships with the Bank’s senior management, Members of the Board and key external stakeholders.
• Attend as observer the Board of Directors and the Executive Committee (chaired by the President) and the Management Committee (chaired by the Senior Vice President) , so as to support strategic decision making.
• Recruit, train, manage and develop the members of the President’s Office, a high performing team with significant turnover.
Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Qualifications
• Very good understanding of the EBRD, its mandate and the broad range of its operations as well as its interactions with its key partners.
• Excellent understanding of the role and governance of an International Financial Institution.
• High political awareness and strong diplomatic skills to interact with internal and external counterparts on a very senior level.
• Strong solution-orientation and proven problem-solving skills.
• Very solid knowledge of economics, politics and banking, ideally with a focus on emerging markets
• Very strong organising skills and some management experience
• Demonstrated, strong analytical capacity
