Job Description
We have an exciting new opportunity for an experienced Programme (PMO) Portfolio Manager to join the Royal Bank of Scotland as a Senior Manager reporting into the Head of Retail PMO in the Retail Change Management Division in Edinburgh.The Programme (PMO) Portfolio Manager will provide day-to-day programme management operation within the central planning team, as well as providing direction and alignment with the Portfolio Support PMOs and delivery leads.
In conjunction with the Head of Retail PMO, the Programme Portfolio Manager will develop and evolve the Central PMO Operating Model; recruit, develop and retain the PMO team(s); create strategies for the effective definition, planning, monitoring and delivery of the overall Retail Transformation Programme (RTP) change portfolio; and assure the overall integrity and coherence of the portfolio.
From a portfolio-level dependency management perspective, the PMO Manager must also be able to manage close relationships with other key business owners / initiatives that are currently underway. The Programme Portfolio Manager will deputise for the Head of Retail Programme Management as necessary.
Desired Skills & Experience
We would expect the successful individual to have significant project management experience with a proven delivery record on change programmes within large scale and complex businesses across multiple divisions, entities and geographies. This experience may have been gained within industries such as energy, oil & gas, telecoms, IT services or business consultancy.It is also essential that you have experience of managing large teams both directly and also part of a matrix structure.
