Litigation Lawyer (Newly Qualified+), Intellectual Property, BBC Legal

We’re looking for a qualified Intellectual Property lawyer to support senior lawyers in the contentious IP team. The contentious IP team advises and acts in respect of the protection and enforcement of the BBC’s intellectual property rights. It provides advice on all aspects of intellectual property law across all parts of the BBC Group and all its services with particular emphasis on copyright and trademark infringement and passing off and format claims. It also advises on contractual disputes relating to rights issues.
You’ll investigate and advise on claims of infringement against the BBC in relation to trade marks, passing off, copyright, confidential information and programme formats, and assist senior lawyers in bringing and defending High Court and County Court proceedings. You’ll investigate infringements of the BBC’s rights, draft enforcement letters and advise on remedies for copyright and trade mark infringement and for passing off and issues relating to confidential information as well as advise on all aspects of intellectual property law.
Desired Skills & Experience
Being a newly qualified lawyer, you'll have completed your training contract having worked in an intellectual property department in a law firm or an equivalent in-house department. As well as experience of civil court procedure and, preferably, knowledge of mediation, arbitration and other forms of dispute resolution, you'll have specialist knowledge of all aspects of UK IP law, with some knowledge of European and international IP law and technology law desirable.
