Amazon Publishing is the full-service publishing arm of Amazon. Our mission is to invent new and better ways to connect authors and readers.
We are seeking an innovative, passionate, market-savvy Editorial Director to lead our UK fiction imprints and continue to develop our publishing program. You will be responsible for managing an editorial team, identifying, evaluating and developing content, managing author relationships, and working cross-functionally to deliver quality books and world-class author experiences. You will be working with senior leadership to define the strategy and influence the future of our publishing business.

The successful candidate should have demonstrated expertise in book publishing and list building, agility, flexibility and a highly commercial goal-oriented approach. She/he should be a strategic thinker and enjoy working in a fast-paced culture. Exceptional critical thinking is essential for success in this role.

Core Job responsibilities:
· Managing a portfolio of titles to deliver on key stakeholder goals, financial and operational performance targets
· Monitoring trends and sales data
· Managing an editorial team
· Collaborating with peers across the organization to produce and market books, delivering high growth and performance for authors and delivering exceptional author experiences
· Working with editors, authors and agents, to publish first class works for Amazon Publishing’s core fiction imprints
Basic Qualifications

Solid book publishing experience, including experience strategizing and executing highly successful publishing campaigns
Consistent track record of excellent results and innovation
Exceptional critical thinking skills and high judgment – comfortable tackling ambiguous problems and doing quantitative and qualitative analysis to identify tradeoffs and recommend solutions
Management experience
7+ years work experience with progressive growth in responsibility and results
University degree
Preferred Qualifications

History of building successful long-term relationships with external business partners
Team player with history of effectiveness in matrixed international organizations
Superior communication skills – communicates clearly and persuasively across different audiences and varying levels of the organization
Ability to multitask and prioritize own workload
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment
