As Director of product management for EMS (Energy Management Systems) you’ll be responsible for the definition and delivery of the Product Roadmap for ABB’s Enterprise Software Groups EMS product for the transmission market. You will work closely with the sales and marketing organization to drive revenue growth and market share.
You will also be accountable for communicating ABB’s unique value and will create thought leadership content to position ABB as the preeminent EMS provider.
Define the product vision and associated roadmap for EMS used by Transmission Operators that creates innovative solutions that enhance our customers operations and leads to significant growth in the EMS market; In particular, responsible for creating a comprehensive solution that includes both EMS and Market Management Solutions (MMS) when appropriate
Shape the ABB image as the pre-eminent player in the provision of EMS systems in the marketplace through the preparation and delivery of thought leadership and value proposition related collateral materials, including presentations and white papers to analysts, partners, and industry groups
Working with the marketing and sales organization, define and manage business development campaigns to interact with sales targets earlier in the sales process to drive revenue and sales growth
Advise the SVP Product Management Network Control on acquisition opportunities
Advise the SVP Product Management Network Control on opportunities for partnerships with vendors who provide advanced applications which are not found in the ABB suite
Desired Skills and Experience
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical engineering, Physics, Applied Mathematics, or related
A minimum of 10-12 years of experience in electric utility and/or in a provider of advanced applications for power systems software
In-depth understanding of the use of advanced applications within electric utilities
Experience of the definition and/or development of advanced applications for use in electric utilities.
Excellent written and presentations skills
Must have capability to lead in a global matrix organization
Must demonstrate a strong sense of ownership, with attention to detail and have the ability to manage effectively and efficiently the competing requirements of delivery and functionality
Hands-on experience required in working on EMS and MMS software implementations.
As a key member of the Product Management leadership team, must be capable of communicating at various levels throughout the organization internally, and also externally.
Multi-lingual a plus
Must have ability to travel 25% of the time
