Job description
Purpose of the Role:
The FD/MD will be responsible for all day to day activities of the company including; preparation of month end accounts, pre-payments, audits and year end statutory accounts as well as the management of the day-to-day activities of the company.

Knowledge and skills
To be suitable for this role you will have:
Knowledge and experience of working on a Management Team within an SME turning over £10-£70M
Experience at an FD or FC level
Ideally a previous MD with FD experience
FD/MD role, duties and responsibilities
working with the other directors in setting the direction and KPIs of the business
monitoring the performance of each department within the business in line with their set budgets.
implementing and maintaining all financial controls and operating systems within the business
identifying and recommending potential operational efficiencies and improvements to working practices and procedures this would include financial as well as all operating and procedural activities
Oversee all tax and regulatory compliance issues
liaising with external advisors on the preparation of statutory financial information
Prepare monthly accounts (P&L and balance sheet) and weekly KPIs
Management of the finance, operations and customer service function and overseeing the finance team
Preparation of budgets, forecasts and cash flows
Management of Customer Service Manager, Operations Manager and HR Manager
Ensuring that appropriate systems and internal controls are implemented and maintained
Develop the forecasting models (P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash-flow)
Review company internal controls

Desired Skills and Experience
Person Specification
Fully qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA (or equivalent)
Up to date knowledge of accounting regulations
Financial control and management reporting experience
Able to demonstrate your experience of managing teams
Able to work on modern ERP & IT systems
Attributes
