Job description
In this role your main responsibilities will involve taking primary accountability for the close management of the risks associated with a dynamic portfolio of the most complex clients in the Real Estate business.
This is a client facing role and will involve managing a portfolio of real estate transactions in partnership with the Relationship Director, undertaking appropriate monitoring and management of the portfolio of assets, including covenants, insurance as well as preparing high quality, succinct credit applications in respect of annual reviews and more complex amendments and waivers.
The role will also involve taking responsibility for all aspects of collateral management, lease consents, property disposals and partial releases, ensuring the Bank’s position is protected at all times including instructing valuations and other due diligence, charging/releasing collateral etc and updating insurance records.



Key Reponsibilities:
Taking personal responsibility for a portfolio of circa 40 of the more complex and challenging clients / transactions. This involves working independently and alongside the respective Relationship Director as well as liaising closely with Risk.
Reviewing financial information provided by the borrower identifying deteriorating trends in covenant ratios, income/ profit performance and budget v actual comparisons and / or general weakening in performance. Seek an understanding of these trends and report as appropriate.
Ensure covenant compliance is monitored and where breaches occur these are reported promptly and appropriate actions are initiated and followed through.
Ensure that ratings assessments are accurately undertaken for all counterparties using the appropriate rating models and that Basle II compliant rating databases are maintained.
Progress waiver requests and covenant resets via preparation of credit submissions / modification papers

An experienced and focused risk management professional with experience interacting with clients
Ability to operate effectively in a fast paced environment
Good organisational and planning skills
A solid understanding of Loan Markets Association standard documentation
Knowledge of current market practice
Good communication, influencing and negotiation skills.
