Reporting to the Registrar, the Director of Estates will be responsible for the delivery of a customer centred estates service to underpin the University’s strategic and operational priorities. You will take full responsibility for all aspects of operational estates management (c. £25m per annum revenue budget) across our 300,000 sq.m estate, in addition to devising and delivering our ambitious capital development programme. This is an exciting time in our history with the new Director of Estates taking a prominent role within the City’s regeneration, working closely with our partners at the Council and the NHS. You will lead the formulation of a new estates strategy and campus masterplan from which will emanate a number of city-wide developments in conjunction with significant capital investment on our main campus.
Person Specification
We are seeking an exceptional leader with a proven track record of initiating, developing and implementing estates strategies and capital development programmes across large scale, diverse and technically complex property portfolios for industry-leading organisations. Positive, driven and a natural collaborator, you will possess excellent communication skills and commercial acumen with the intellectual confidence to succeed in a leading University. This role will suit professionals who are adept at providing leadership at the wider strategic level in conjunction with proven operational expertise in leading a culture of ‘best in class’ quality and innovation.
