Job Description
The Finance Director – Financial Shared Services will be responsible for all transaction related processes and is critical to ensuring the efficiency and effectiveness of the Finance department and they will be instrumental in the successful design, implementation, transition and sustainability of our future operating model.
What You’ll Do
Provide the leadership and direction to the Shared Service team that is responsible for all transactional related processing (Accounts Payable, Billing, Accounts Receivable and Cash), payroll, VAT compliance, balance sheet reconciliations and financial control for a number of companies and joint ventures.
Control staff payroll payments, P11d’s and expenses
Cash management including forecasting and optimisation to compliance with covenants
Develop SLAs and set performance targets, monitor & report against agreed KPI's and ensure compliance with regulatory obligations.
Undertake initiatives to align and improve processes that will improve the company's financial performance, financial controls and drive efficiencies through automation.
Liaise closely with the other departments to foster effective communication, understand customer requirements and ensure that all required data is provided accurately and promptly.
Continuously review processes and controls to achieve full audit assurance to include implementing internal and external audit recommendations applicable to the function. Ensuring that revisions to department processes and controls are communicated to all Finance colleagues and the stakeholders across the company.
Introduce/update process and control documentation.
Develop and manage relationships in a customer focused manner and to ensure effective communication with key stakeholders to meet transaction processing needs in an accurate and timely manner
Manage department activities to ensure tasks are completed on time, strong internal controls are in place and processes are efficient.
Create positive working environment that fosters team and individual performance whilst enhancing accountability.
Implement a new process for gathering and monitoring KPIs that can be used to motivate and monitor performance levels of the department.
What We’d Like You To Have
We're looking for a qualified accountant with significant experience of managing a shared service centre or a significantly sized finance team.
An accomplished leader with experience of successful delivery of cultural change, you will be comfortable leading teams through significant change.
A proven track record of building stakeholder relationships and engaging with senior management
Is highly collaborative with the ability to work in a team environment.
Operates at the highest level of professionalism and personal integrity
Exceptional skills in communication, motivation, and interpersonal relations.
Great people development skills (ability to motivate, recruit, develop and retain high potential people) are essential. Including the skills to foster an environment that supports teamwork, continuous improvement and innovation while at the same time striving to maintain a high level of expectation.
