Amazon Video is fast becoming one of the major global players in digital entertainment. We are changing the way millions of customers enjoy movies and TV shows. Amazon Original shows, offered as part of a Prime subscription, have now won Emmys, Golden Globes and a BAFTA. Amazon Video also offers new release movies for rent or purchase and now additional subscriptions through Amazon Channels. Amazon Channels, launched in the US in 2015, is a new and fast-growing area, offering well-known entertainment channels such as Showtime and Starz on the Amazon Video platform, without the need for a cable or satellite subscription.
The role:
Lead in-life relationship management with major content partners across EU, driving for excellence and joint commercial success with all partners
Directly own the relationships with major (Tier 1) content partners – typically the major branded channel groups
Lead merchandising and related promotional activity across the Amazon Video ecosystem to maximise customer sign-ups and engagement
Ensure smooth handover from acquisition deal team to in-life management
Ensure excellence in partner communication with clear paths of escalation on any operational or commercial issues
You will be a key member of Amazon Video senior team helping to shape the future of this exciting new opportunity across Europe
Lead a distributed team, starting with 8 people (4 UK and 4 DE), setting ambitious goals and inspiring this team to deliver.
Basic Qualifications
Candidate essentials:
Experience in either a large content group (channel group or studio) or retailer of content (e.g. Pay TV, e-commerce)
Specific experience in content marketing, editorial and promotion
Strong leadership skills, especially to manage widely distributed team
Stakeholder/partner communication skills
Consumer focused and instinctively commercial
Preferred Qualifications
It is also expected that the successful candidate will be able to utilize experiences to influence the broader business across Amazon Video and the broader Amazon business as appropriate.
