Right Media created and operates the Right Media Exchange, the open exchange for interactive advertising, acquired by Yahoo in 2007. All buyers and sellers in the exchange are interconnected on a common platform, have equal access to media and trade seamlessly.

With current buyers and sellers trading 10 billion daily transactions, we need more forward-thinking, business and technology-savvy entrepreneurs who can help continue our growth, specifically in the German market.

This is an opportunity to be at the cutting edge of some of the most exciting developments in global internet advertising. The goal is to create the best advertising technology platform for data enabled enterprise and agency customers of Right Media.

Responsibilities:

We are looking for an experienced business development professional to lead the Right Media ad exchange business. Based in London, this person will be responsible for the new business joining the exchange, and for overseeing the growth and retention of the existing network customer base.

Comprised of 3 core teams (business development, account management and platform solutions), based in 6 offices, the successful candidate will lead these functions, own the Right Media revenue and drive the product development and business strategy. Liaison with key Yahoo counterparts to meet combined objectives of the exchange and direct response network is also key.

They will need to act as an ambassador for the Right Media Exchange, attending industry events and representing at major trade bodies, organising and hosting customer and marketing events in all key markets.

Requirements:

Working within the Yahoo Marketplace team, the candidate will be required to profile potential partners, managing a pipeline of prospects that would bring additional value to the exchange. This includes, but is not limited to, media agencies, publishers, networks, technology and data providers.

They will also be the senior contact for the existing customer base, building relationships with c-level staff at top tier customers, and leading account management and services teams to ensure customer retention and growth. Technical expertise is also critical in this area, understanding and being able to communicate the intricacies of platform trading, RTB/API requirement and capabilities and optimisation techniques.

The success metrics for Right Media business development are not sheer bulk of new clients signed, but rather on the strategic value that each new client brings to the Exchange. To this end the successful candidate needs to understand the product, and drive business and service profitability and market strategy to ensure time and focus are on the highest potential customers.

The candidate should be prepared to travel up to 50% of the time across EMEA, including the Middle East and Israel, and the US.

- BA/BS degree
- Proven experience in an advertising platform, technology or solution sales position

- Leadership of an international and cross-functional team

Competencies:
Exposure to the display advertising market
Network of contacts across media owners, agencies and tech providers
Excellent influencing and negotiation skills
Ability to develop a pipeline of prospects from standing start
Outstanding verbal and written communication
Ability to build strong relationships at senior management level
Long term and strategic perspective and vision
Fluent English as a 1 st or 2 nd language

Must be prepared to travel across the region, sometimes at short notice
