The candidate being sought will also represent Juniper Networks at appropriate customer, industry, press and industry analyst events.

The development of a high level narrative for security and the supporting sub-narratives will necessitate working with a group of key stakeholders both within the Juniper Networks EMEA operation but also within the corporate marketing and product teams as well to ensure a fully plumbed, 360 degree closed loop marketing plan is created that has a clear goal and is underpinned by effective strategies, tactics and objectives.

Particular focus will be given to individuals who have developed and led security marketing activities into specific industry verticals, specifically the financial services industry and can demonstrate deep level knowledge of the business and IT drivers within that vertical and how to craft effective marketing campaigns based on that.

In summary: Someone who acts as a messaging advocate for the customer and thinks more ‘Outside-in’ than ‘Inside-out.’

Key vocational requirements

7-10 years of IT/Networking security marketing expertise covering all aspects of networking, system and application security across the key domains that Juniper Networks operates in, from the Cloud Datacentre, to the Service Provider Network (Mobile and fixed) to the branch office network of mid-large enterprises.
A demand centric individual, one who can help guide and support the marketing team around them to better target the company’s security messaging and value proposition via social media, key content syndication sites, digital marketing activities etc.
An individual who fully understands the buyer’s journey, how to develop and target collateral and messaging that reflects each stage of that journey and how to develop and execute closed loop marketing campaigns based on that primary message set.
An individual who can support, help develop and guide full marketing campaigns from awareness, through preference to consideration to purchase and is fully conversant with the full array of marketing tools and tactics to drive success in that area.
An established and accomplished speaker, comfortable delivering market led messaging and positioning to senior individuals at customer, partner, press and analyst events.
An individual that understands and can articulate the impact of major Industry disruptions and trends such as 5G, IOT, SDN, NFV, Cloud and Hyper Convergence on security strategy and implementation.
An individual who understands the main security compliance drivers at an EU, national government and industry vertical level and can develop positioning messaging and collateral to show Juniper Networks as a thought leader against those drivers and ultimately drive them towards a demand engine.
Deep understanding of the prevailing and developing threat landscape and customer drivers for security investments and mapping that to Juniper Networks’ value proposition and portfolio of offerings.
The ability to define fully plumbed marketing strategies that start with the understanding of the threat landscape and customer pain points, move to the ability to articulate Juniper Networks’ security value proposition and ‘why Juniper’ in this space that finally lead to security solutions and products that are properly positioned to address the prevailing threat landscape and pain points as defined.
The ability to develop and deliver sales and partner enablement collateral that will help support both groups with a better understanding of how to position Juniper Networks’ security value proposition to drive increased pipeline and sales.
The ability to develop and deliver competitive positioning material vs the main competitors within this industry again in support of the sales and partner sales teams’ efforts. This will require a thorough understanding in time of the positional strengths of the Juniper Networks portfolio and specific insertion points that maximize the company’s opportunity.

Results, results, results – someone who always has an outcome in mind in everything they do and can operate in a results driven environment.
A driver. Someone who sees an opportunity to help develop a positive outcome for Juniper Networks and takes the opportunity with minimal supervision.
A passion for marketing, a passion for security, a passion for partnerships, a passion for focus, a passion for people
An individual who collaborates – one who knows how to build effective relationships both within and outside of the marketing function and knows where to start and stop in terms of their role and responsibilities.
An individual who is comfortable operating at the most senior levels within the company and who will professionally represent the whole EMEA team every time they ‘show up’.
Someone who will challenge the status quo when necessary and will be a strong advocate for the EMEA Marketing Team’s collective goal and mission.
An individual who takes ownership and accountability for getting things done. Enjoys being visible and will ultimately become the ‘go to’ person for security marketing within EMEA.
An infectious optimist who can handle the challenges, the knocks, the pushbacks and who always finds a smart way to get things done: ‘Can do’ as a default behaviour.
The individual must be fluent in written and spoken English; other European languages such as French, German and Spanish would be a real advantage.

The role can be based in any appropriate Western European location.
