The key drivers of change for our Financial Services clients are Regulatory reform, Cost Reduction and Finance Transformation and our financial management offerings reflect this demand and support technology enabled change.
Successful candidates should have strong Insurance finance knowledge (including interactions with actuarial functions) and have specific expertise across one or more of the following areas:
- Finance function effectiveness
- Finance Systems / technology enabled finance change
- Finance function diagnosis and strategy development
- Finance function Target Operating Model development & implementation
- New regulatory rule impact assessments on operating models and reporting
- Effective Business Intelligence including planning, budgeting, forecasting and management information
- Strategic Cost Management to provide visibility and understanding of an organisations costs - cost to serve a customer and cost to sell a product
In addition you will:
- Actively contribute to financial management knowledge management
- Define requirements for new solutions and assets
- Work closely with Partners and Directors to sell/deliver financial management solutions
- Lead large change programmes and projects
- Present to current and target clients
- Support business development initiatives including bid proposal and contract/commercial management
- Build and maintain client relationships
- Monitor, coach and develop others
The Person
- ACA, CIMA, ACCA, CIPFA or equivalent is desirable or equivalent experience in running content rich Finance change programmes
- Consulting skills and experience gained from working within the Insurance sector
- Able to work out the approach and lead a work stream or project
- Knowledge of Finance data, systems and tools advantageous (e.g. data warehouses, ledgers, planning tools, consolidation systems, actuarial models, business intelligence, reporting tools)
- Knowledge of Finance processes and / or reporting requirements
- Strong influencing skills
- Understanding of issues and challenges facing finance functions
- Strong people manager, able to lead teams and develop others
- Excellent understanding of leading practices for financial management/financial processes/trends in finance
- Knowledge of the key programme governance structures to establish robust business led Case for Change
- Ability to establish a value case for complex Business and IT Finance enabled change and to shape a robust roadmap for benefits realisation and solution delivery
- Experience of Finance multidiscipline programmes and project delivery throughout the entire lifecycle
- Strong communicator with the personal skills to build strong and lasting client relationships
- Able to demonstrate project management with a proven track record in delivering high quality programme, project or assignment outputs
- Please note that due to our capability based structure the successful candidate could also be deployed across other industries, although the intention is that the role will be Insurance client based where possible.
Experience in a number of the following areas:
- Finance function transformations with focus on business and systems architecture designs and delivery
- Experience of leading multifunctional collaborative process and system design teams
- Leadership of Design workshops where Business and IT requirements generated in a collaborative manner
- Understanding of the best practice finance and risk systems architectures and how to build an executable path from the current state
- Experience of proposal writing and presenting to clients
- Experience of large scale project and programme management/change management
- Implementation experience
- Experience in internal practice development preferred
- Business development/sales experience required
