Board Account Director - JWT - London


Job description
The Board Account Director will be a critical driver for the smooth running of the Account Team and the effective management and strategic oversight of all client projects/accounts. The team thrives on teamwork and excellent strategic and creative work and the Board Account Director will be accountable for leading several brands within this client portfolio, managing a team of account execs and account managers as well as cultivating strong relationships with senior clients.

This healthcare account is one of the most exciting accounts in the building. We are winning creative awards at Cannes and delivering the highest level of client service. The Board Account Director must be creatively driven, future-thinking and have experience and passion in delivering excellent integrated campaigns. Partnering with film and digital production teams and external partners, success in building relationships and forging partnerships is essential.

Specific remit

JWT London has recently been awarded the global remit to manage a number of brands for this client worldwide. JWT’s task is to unite these brands firstly through strategic alignment on a category positioning, then through creative alignment on category led work. For this account, it is about creating “megabrands” in these categories.

Specific responsbilities include:

Act as the client’s global partner in realising the ambition of the Client in creating these megabrands.
Global network coordination and management. Establish and maintain a contact plan that gives visibility to work happening around the world on these brands. Seek out and actively avoid or manage conflict of local vs. global.
Actively manage / push brands on the journey towards creative alignment by category. Review and assess local market briefs against global category positioning.
Copy development. Lead strategy and creative process to design and deliver one of these core category positioning; then the creative work to match. Project will be international with multi-market research.
Fashion and create opportunities to deliver work outside of our scope.
Support numerous project opportunities that arise.
Some travel will be necessary.



Desired Skills and Experience
A minimum of 6+ years agency-side experience – must include knowledge of running international business at the agency.
Passion for healthcare as an industry.
Strong relationship skills. The relationship between this account and JWT is vital to the ongoing success for both parties.
Be an integral part of the development of the strategic and creative output – attending all key meetings and ensuring all follow up required is done so by you or your team.
Hungry for new business – the account is a thriving account with organic growth opportunities that the BAD must be enthusiastic to seek out and convert.
Responsible for managing and developing those team members who work into you. Additionally, manage the various JWT team around the world to ensure a smooth running of the global network.
Fluent in key production techniques across TV, print and digital.
Excellent communication skills – demonstrates credibility and authority when dealing with senior clients – an engaging and down-to-earth style of communication would be a plus.
Responsible for the financial upkeep of the account, as well as helping to manage the client production budgets. You will also be required to help plan the scope of work and fee management with the BD.
Demonstrates passion – approaches all tasks in a wholehearted and enthusiastic manner. The team is jam-packed with energy and we need someone who has a can-do, tenacious approach and shows initiative.
Works collaboratively – recognises the value and responsibility of working in a team. Develops solid working relationships within the team and wider JWT team who we work very closely with.
