Role Summary
At Ogilvy & Mather, this global client is one of the “Jewels in the Crown”. It’s a business that David Ogilvy himself won in 1954 and a brand on which some of our most famous work has been done. This particular account started it all off and has been the leader of its category ever since. That task gets ever harder as the category declines in developed markets and emerging markets take hold.
We are looking for a Business Director whose responsibility will be to oversee all account development and new category launches out of London.
Overall Responsibilities
• Leading global business with responsibility to develop the Ogilvy business and relationship across various disciplines from traditional media to finding opportunities in digital and social.
• Reinforcing the quality of the Agency’s relationship with the account Brand Director, managing their needs and expectations and forging strong links, mutual trust and respect.
• In conjunction with the Creative Director, driving the quality of the creative work on the business.
• Working in partnership with Planning, to apply innovative thinking to the development of insightful communication strategies, a longer-term brand vision and outstanding creative briefs and effectiveness.
• Leading the Ogilvy team across disciplines, motivating them to achieve the highest possible standards and gaining the trust and respect of all members of the agency team.
• Responsible for the performance and development of the client account management team, providing them with the support they need and ensure they are working effectively with all internal and external stakeholders.
• This role reports into the Global Business Partner.

• A leader who is equally at ease driving high level strategic discussions at the Brand level and steering clients and internal teams towards great work
• Output driven and resourceful with outstanding attention to detail
• Strong communicator able to forge strong strategic relationships with senior clients
• A champion of strong creative work equally at ease around traditional or digital work
• Comfortable working in a large organization and able to build strong, effective virtual relationships
• Experience of working on FMCG
• Experience of running international business from a global or regional perspective.
The majority of the Clients are based in New York so some international travel will be required (approx. once every two months). However, this is for the most part planned well ahead of time.
